"I'm praying that Daytona 2 with Live support becomes a reality"

That would be dirty! Chuck Scud Race on the same disc and include system linkup ^________^ AV should contract Genki to do it.

I don't think Daytona 2 is on the way (More Spong bull****), but I'm sure it wont be long until Outrun on Xbox is revealed. I just hope they keep it arcade-style.

          Best pad? Thats questionable.

However I think its better to chose which version of a game you purchase by looking at the features, and any extras e.g. a gba connection.

Outrun 2. Great title, but we are jumping the gun saying it will be 2003. I hope so, but it might not be. I think Brats is right. Its definately not a vintage year for the console, but its not got a terrible line up.

However I do agree with Saur when he says that the real strength of the console is the modding side of things. That is what makes it different from the PS2, and GC. Albeit I would rather it was down to original AAA games, but playing Mame on it is good.

Brats - SWG is apparently now a 2004 release for consoles.

GBA connection is a lame gimmick.

You can keep your negativity, i'm more than happy with the lineups of all three systems this year.

Since the GBA-GC is my personal bag I have to defend this point slightly. It's way more than a cheap gimmick. It enhances games, take Zelda WW, the tingle tuner takes it above OOT IMO.

end of the day i am more than happy with what i will be playing on my xbox in 2003 - people want to start worrying about who wins e3 or who wins 2003 - no-one has had a stunning 2003 upto now so whats the point singling out the Xbox? 5 months in and i am still waiting for another GC release (last one was Zelda in 2002)

Totally agree. If you have just the one console or all, there are plenty of good times ahead. Hardware is dirt cheap now, so if required go and get that 2nd or 3rd machine. Seem like a great period at the moment IMO. Nintendo seem to have some great games in the wings and I really like Xbox Live, PS2 will dish out it usual wide slew of games, all sounds good to me. Just not enough time in the week to keep up with my gaming.

Looking forward to Moto GP 2 and RTCW for Xbox Live, as well as F-Zero for Cube.

One thing for sure is that this highlights being a multiformat gamer is the only way to be to cover all bases during this exciting year.

                              Yes it is.

Metroid Prime is a case in point. The data is on the disc yet you need a GBA + game to unlock it. Nintendo call it an 'incentive', I call it taking the piss.

I think they are. Both are sequels too the best games in their respective genres (imo). Bring 'em on.

Agree about the multi format thing, although in most muli format games circumstances the XBox release is the best version (I'll take 5.1 digital sound and the ability to use your own soundtrack over GBA connectivity on most occasions). Look at Burnout 2 for proof.
