    Agreed.

Imagine what could be done with a Resident Evil 2 remake?

Loved them all right back to the first import copy of Biohazard from vgimports on the then very expensive import ps1.

First one though is very special as we had seen nothing like it before and the GC one often gets played.

Remake 2 & 4 or better still make six at least on par with the first as 5 stank.

      That's a lot of numbers.....

I don't get why everyone wants a remake myself . I thought the remake of RE while well done, wasn't a patch on the PS or the Saturn versions It just came at a great time, when then there was **** all else to buy onthe Cube for me . RE 2 is done as well as it could be on the PS2 or DC Really pointless to remake that imo

Would like ke to join inthe RE 0 love, I think its a really overlooked gem and really underrated in the RE series as a whole, and most prob the last RE game that was genuinely scary to play . My only fault with it, was the bosses were incredibly hard to beat

Love it if Capcom were to put up Code Veronica, RE, RE 2 on X-Box Live too

I love Resident evil (PS1) but REmake is about a hundred times better, and as far as remakes go it's one of the best I've ever played. Aside from updating the graphics (Which at the time were pretty awesome looking) it adds so much to the game that even RE1 veterans had alot of new stuff to work out and such.

The atmosphere and creepiness alone in that game were ramped up about a thousand times in the REmake, the original game was slightly creepy to me the first playthrough or so but after that it's nothing, I often go through the game in one sitting without saving too it was too easy. REmake ramps the difficulty up nicely enough.

Done as well as it could be? Not really. More upto date graphics, improved controls, around 20% new content like REmake would be awesome. Specially given we've only really had the modern Resi's and some on-rails shooters the last decade.

RE:Code veronica seems like the one that would benefit least from a remake given it's the most recent traditional RE and was made on newer hardware.

I agree that a remake of RE2 in the same vein as the first game would be increadable.

The remake of the first game was such a massive improvment in all areas it is simply one of the most impressive things I have ever played, if they could do the same kind of magic with the second game I'd buy it without question, as I'm sure many other people would too.

Surley it would be a more worthwhile endeavour for capcom than making yet another lightgun game?

I didn't really enjoy RE2, not too bothered about a remake really.

I enjoyed RE2, for the story, atmosphere and tension as much as anything else.

I also enjoyed RE3: Nemesis for the action and the challenge. It was better than RE2 in those respects.

I recently tried to play the old Resi Evil games on the Dreamcast, and as much as it pains me to say it, they have not aged well at all. The GC remake is still good, but the older versions are very clunky, and they just don't stand up today.

Even back when it came out I thought Nemesis was a bunch of steaming turd, and it proper put me off trying Code Veronica for ages.

Absolutely love the REmake on the Cube and have played through it over a dozen times. I also enjoyed Res 2 on the ps1 back in the day and did that again earlier in the year on my PSP. I bought Code Veronica on the DC way back when it was first released and enjoyed it even if i found the location a little bland.

Iv only done 45 mins or so on Res 4 and whilst it looks like fun i just feel its lost all the tension and eerie atmosphere that the 1st had as well as the puzzle solving and scary moments as it seems very run and gun. Also i thought the house in the 1st was the perfect location for Res and so brilliantly designed.

This pretty much sums up how I feel about the older games now, if someone was to ask me what was my favourite in the series is then no doubt it would be RE2, I loved the 2 different scenarios, and the story crossing over on Leon and Claire's discs but I honestly don't think I could be arsed to play through it again these days, I'd sooner be playing RE4 if I had to choose. I'd be there day one if they remade RE2 though.

I thought the original had a better atmosphere, if for nothing else the music was not only better, it was creepier

I thought it was, The Backrounds were brilliant, I never felt playing RE 2 if only the Backrounds were better, or the Polygons models done better, and To me the game had more than enough content.

It would be a Huge Undertaking to remake RE 2. I don't think a RE remake like that done onthe Cube would cut it in l today's Market. It would need complete re-vamp and all new 3D Polygon models and 3D Backgrounds.
That wasn't so much with case with the CUBE version and where I think Capcom were using to conduct tests on how RE 4 models could look on the CUBE.
If RE 2 was totally PS era 3D like Dino Crisis, or had have massive frame rate dip, s I could maybe see the need for a remake.

Far better for me, if Capcom put all thier efforts into RE 6 and get the series back to being scary again, and having a story that at least made some sense .Which the series seemed to have lost, with going for the all out action seen in RE4 and RE5

Code veronica seems like the one that would benefit least from a remake given it's the most recent traditional RE and was made on newer hardware.
I'm not asking for a re-make . Just be nice it was put up on LIVE Arcade, same goes for Parts II and III. I really couldn't careless if the DC code was used for all 3 . I quite enjoyed playing the DC version of Pt II

Would it? I personally much prefer the highly detailed visuals used in REmake/RE0 as opposed to RE4's 3D world. The overall visual experience is of a much higher quality and more believable, regardless of how 'outdated' the backdrop method is considered to be. Not everything has to be 3D.

I'm happy enough with the DC version tbh. Just thinking that in today's market is seems a 2D remake wouldn't do that well , everything needs to be in 3D

The older Resident Evil games, much like everything made for the PS1, look pretty crap today, which obviously detracts in a major way as atmosphere is a big part of them. I dont understand why anyone wouldnt welcome remakes really.

I think the recent add on content for RE5 have proven that old school resi would work with the new engine anyway. it would need some tweeks to get it working as well as it should for that type of gamplay but its entierly possible. At the end of the day though its not so much the look of the thing that relaly matters, the RE remake was amazing becuase it kept what was great while adding so much knew stuff, it was basicaly a new game but still had all the great bits from the original too, as a result fans were in heaven.

As far as the earlier games go RE2 is probabaly the most well respected (or at least most loved) game in the series, if a remake was done well people would go nuts for it, there is no doubt really.

RE and RE2 are like Alien and Aliens. Both are awesome and picking a favourite is nearly impossible. The originals had the creepy atmosphere and were a totally new experience, whereas the sequels were definitely more action orientated and a bit more polished/enjoyable.

The original releases haven't aged well though, and Biohazard on the Saturn/PS does look very dodgy (like any early 3D game). The REmake is still gorgeous though even 8 years on.
