Paying the stupid sum of ?100 for Syphon Filter on the PS (which although I enjoyed it, certainly wasn't worth that much cash).

I should have just saved the money to hire a Solicitor to sue the arse off Blockbuster for billing me for a game I returned, but someone managed to nick from their faulty drop slot

      Another one.

Not playing Grim Fandango on release. To this day I still haven't played it. Shame on me.

Swopping my entire Jap MD collection in 92/93 for a Neo AES with 3 games.

Selling my Saturn Collection including Nights, Saga (and not even finishing the first disc!), Guardian Heroes et al for some Bazooka Joe comics and a pack of Hubba Bubba (maybe).

Trading in my mint Castlevania SOTN for about ?15 in Game which equated to half a DC game.

Selling off/trading in most games I had.

Accidentely deleting my San Andreas save, TWICE! First time it happened, I stopped playing games for a few months cos I was so pissed.

Accidentely deleting both GTA3 (around 70% in) and Vice City (86%). Still havent got round to playing them again, leaves a sour taste when you realise how much stuff you did, and its all gone

And as said by others, not getting into importing earlier (only started late last year!)

Edit: Just remembered, not a mistake, but an 8mb Cube card filled with loads of game saves (Mario, Luigis Mansion, F-Zero, etc) stopped working and kept telling me to format it. ft:

Biggest gaming mistake/s was selling my Snes with 20 top games for a PS. I should've saved up a bit more, kept my Snes and just bought the PS. Other recent mistakes would be getting a Nintendo DS, gimcrack if you ask me.

Like others have already said, not getting into importing properly until fairly recently.

The first game I bought on import was Final Fantasy 3 (US SNES) way back in 1995. Apart from getting Chrono Trigger and Yoshi's Island for Christmas 1995, I then didn't buy anything else on import until I bought my GC with Pikmin and Super Monkey Ball in Oct/Nov 2001 when I first came across this site.

Apart from that, selling off a load of SNES games for about 4 or 5 quid each around 8 years. They were all in absolutely mint condition and included some real classics such as Zombies, Super Mario All-Stars and Legend of The Mystical Ninja. I didn't really need the money either, it was just an attempt to clear some space in my house.

              Never again...

Buying every console on launch day to the detriment of my others... I sell them.

Which is what im planning to do now. All I want in my collection is a lovely DC and N64 in the loft and a Xbox 360 and a GBA Micro as my main gaming platform.

So I'll be selling my modded Xbox, Gamecube, PS2, PSP, DS and Neo geo Pocket. I know I'll regret in in a years time

Just thought of another one which is far more serious than my two above - never having played ICO until two days ago.

How I put off playing such a thing of beauty until now I will never know.

Its well worth the money. Paid ?35 for my copy last week and its worth every penny, and far more besides.

Ouch. If I did that with my save file after the effort I've put into it I'd go temporarily insane. I've been thinking of getting a second memory card for back-up (I still only have the one).

I did the same thing with the Panzer Dragoon series until about a little over two years ago. I can't believe I almost let Zwei and Saga slip me by.

It was only after reading of the anticipation for Orta on these forums that got me into the series.

you should get a secondary card, or that device to put it on your pc. its well worth it just in case.

#. Accidentally deleting my Banjo-Kazooie Save - Nearly complete as well.

#. Getting stuck in the Forest Temple on Ocarina of Time in the room where you have to melt the ice around the eye. I thought I needed the Fire spell from one of the fairy's when your a child. When you go back to the Temple Of Time, Sheik is blocking you so you can't change back to a young lad again, so I thought I was completley stuck. Restarted the whole game got the Spell did the level. Many years later I realised I could have shot through a lantern on fire with my bow and arrow to make it melt thus not needing the spell. I could have spit blood!!

#. Buying a PSP, it was an impulse buy, I've got four games and it's been sitting gathering dust for nearly a month now. The DS has and will be keeping my attention for the foreseeable future.

#. Writing on and chucking away some of my SNES boxes, seemed a good idea at the time. Now at a time when I like keeping Minty-mint games I wish I hadn't.

Probably selling my spectrum bits in the 90s as i wouldn't use them again. Also selling many snes games when buying my house.

Most recent one was Xbox live, considering i only had the Xbox for a few months subscribing to live was a mistake.
