It isn't widescreen, and as 99% of displays do not support 50Hz over VGA, games like Rainbow 6 refuse to run.

It's annoying though, as my display does do 50Hz over VGA, and I'd like to go through Halo again. (I don't like component)

edit: ah, it downloaded the update when I tried Halo 2. ****ing Halo 2. ~_~
thats what i was having, had to rent a game to get it working >.<

I'm getting this freeze up when attempting to download the update to play Ninja Gaiden, so it can be fixed by inserting a copy of Halo 2?
        What a poor BC system!

I had the "stuck" download problem, I just reset the 360 and it worked first time (using the same disc, no Halo 2 nonsense)

Its probably just the volume of people trying to get the update.

The recent sound patch wouldn't install at all when I put Halo 2 in, then when I tried a different game the progress bar never moved, so I pressed B to cancel and it froze until I ejected the disc. I closed the tray straight away and waited for the prompt and then it installed straight away. The same thing happened with the recent BC update, except I used Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory to prompt that one.

I had the freeze problem and I used this solution to get the update, it might help some of the rest of you. Also if you play any XB1 demo disc the demo will play even if they are no on the BC list, DOA Ultimate worked well!!

keep checking to see if the new update is availble via disk burning.
How do we know if this is the original march one or the update to the march one?

                It doesn't specify.

both Fable and Rainbow 6 are region free games supporting PAL60 and run fine on my Xbox in NTSC/480p through my X2VGA box. so why can't they run in 720p 60Hz through my 360 VGA cable? is there some kind of logic i don't see?

It is very true that the PAL version of RS3 is 50Hz only. Of course as you say, you own the NTSC-U version which is region free and 60Hz. I'm guessing that when you insert your region free NTSC-U 60Hz copy of RS3 into your PAL 360, the BC emulation program will look at the list of working xbox1 games and it will be noted that certain titles will not work over VGA due to them being 60Hz only. Even thought your copy of RS3 should work it won't because the PAL version doesn't.

And Fable does and will work as intended.

Could anyone who plays Ninja Gaiden Black possibly answer my question here...

**** sakes, Whenever I play Halo 2 with a X360 headset, it always does something to break it. I've lost two now.

Tried Forza earlier, it was so choppy on the frame rate previously, seems to be pretty much 100% now - can't say I noticed any sound issues that have been mentioned earlier, but I've only given it a quick 10 minute go.

Got the latest updates, but when I try to play Halo 2 through my VGA cable if it makes a difference, on offline multiplayer it just says waiting for all players to load the map. Eh? Any help is appreciated.

It does that if you haven't played the game in a while. That is usually it trying to cache the maps. Try another map first or something.

It was hanging on that bit for me the other day
