I actually bought Fable: The Lost Chapters today, as I'd never played Fable.

Gave it a go on the 360... is it me, of are some of the voices muffled, broken, and the framerate a bit messed? Might be my imagination mind.

Not that it matters to me, I play my XBox games from my XBox 300GB HDD... just something I picked up on.

I tried installing the US BC profiles on my pal xbox, didn't seem to affect my PAL games. If Only I had a american game from the list to try.

why not try downloading and burning to disc? MS have been going on and on about updating via live, or via having a cd sent, or simply burning it yourself

I know that it doesn't support all of the games yet, and some of them have some framerate issues, but I can't help being overwhelmingly impressed with the backwards compatibilty, if not just for the feat of software engineering that has been accomplished.

And seeing it build up bit by bit, it's a work in progress, but what games will be next? How long until the entire catalogue works with the emulator? It's rather exciting really.

            Or is it just me.

It is exciting from the stance that I'm going to be looking forward to every update.

It's a great technical achievement. As I say, some games still need work (the Fable emulation is so-so, for example), and it would be nice to have true 720p in more than just the Halo games.... but it's certainly an impressive achievement.

no it's the same with all emulators - when more and more games are emulated, and you sit with baited breath for your fave game(s) to be sorted out. just like when we were waiting for things like Mario Kart and Starfox to work with the snes emus

as for having 720p in games other than the halos, how come they haven't done it? take any emulator nowadays and they'll all allow you to choose your resolution - play something like mario64 in 1024x768 and you'll see that the 3D resolution is precisely that, but the 2D stuff is simply scaled up. if the whole screen were simply upscaled altogether, then it would be very noticeable (considering mario64's running at 320x240-odd)

Wonder if that will be in 720p/1080i like the others o.o

Imagine playing it in full 320*240 glory! Scaled... to a stupidly high resolution!

sonic mega collection's a bit rank on the xbox though - it's got that blurry hardware stretchy filter thing that plagues most of the games, and especially ruins the lower-res stuff like sonic and hyper sf2.

the ps2's better i find, when playing things like sonic and hyper sf2, as it doesn't filter the screen like that so it feels more like a megadrive or whatever.

dunno if it applies those same filters to a progressive, hires 720p image, but i bet it does...

It doesn't yet, I'm hoping it will be on the next update as the game was released yesterday.

its nice to see they are improving the BC profiles of games in the list already, so games will run even better hopefully

                            Got to say it again.

Jet Set Radio Future/Panzer Dragoon Orta/Shenmue II with AA. Get it done Microsoft/Sega/anyone.

Pretty please with mountains of sugar on top.

I tried Scapland on my 360 last night as it is the only other game that has backwards compatible game I own other than Halo 2.

There was not a chance in hell that it had full AA on it.
