Hmmm.. i'm quite fancying one of those backlit SPs now. Which models are backlit, any Ltd Ed ones? Would anyone know where's the cheapest to get hold of one?

AFAIA there aren't any LE backlit SP's. Just the usual silver, black, graphite/onyx etc. I got mine from some American dude i befriended on ebay. Worked out around £50ish inc shipping (which was around £20 than regular new SP's in the UK at the tme).

The backlit SP's screen is pretty much on par with the Lite's. I unfortunately haven't got an old SP to show the huge improvement anymore (i've got rid of all my handheld doubles). Needless to say if you still want to play your GBA games get one sharpish.
Yikes that's impressive mate! I so want one of those now! LOL but as I already have 3 of the buggers I think that's probably not justifyiable!

Very nice though mate I bet games look great on that!

I have average size hands and have no problem at all with the Micro. If anything it's easier than the SP as it has the screen in between the controls and so means your hands are further apart.

The Micro is a delight, the world's only truly pocket sized console. The screen is indeed very small but it's so sharp it's rarely an issue. My only real complaint with the Micro is that the internal speaker is very quiet.

I must confess I have never had the opporunity to see one up close and sample it, but I've seen the boxes and various pictures floating around. I guess then I really need to see one before I decide!

You really do have to see one up close to apreciate what a marvel of miniaturisation they are. Amazing stuff.

Looks lovely in it's special Famicom colours too.

                Will do!

Now I just need to find someone I know who has one, or a demo pod in a shop....

the colours are rank, too, apparently cos of the extra-bright screen. i set the brightness to it's lowest which was passable.

                  gba sp 4 life!

btw are you lot talking about the regular backlit sp's or the newer frontlit ones that came out later on (which i've never had the honour of experiencing)?

Dunno what all the moaning is about tbh, I use my DS Lite for GBA titles and it looks lovely to me...

Had some vouchers to use so got a "Lite" on Saturday with the Assessory Pack and any game for ?125 from HMV (at least I get ?6 odd back on the Reward Card and ?1.25 back on the HMV Store Card I have).

At least there were no dead pixels (unlike my big DS which has one near the bottom of the touch screen that only really shows on a dark background). I like the machine. I don't like the fact that the GBA cartridges stick out from the machine which means I can't leave the "Lite" in its case if I am using a GBA cartridge.

At least the stylus is a better size this time around.

Picked mine up on Saturday in preperation for my holidaya in a couple of weeks. Traded in my old console to get some money off and picked up Metroid and Viewtiful Joe for it.

The console itself is a little bit of sex, absolutely piece of kit and such an improvement over the original design. Both Metroid and VJ look insane on the new screens and the stylus is perfect... Delighted with it!!

Same thing with mine. Both screens tilt to the left, bottom screen more so than the top.

I don't suppose there's anyway to correct the geometry of the screens? I've already had to exchange one DSL because of dead pixels so I'm not interested in exchanging again when the risks of getting another with a dead pixel are quite high.

Final Fantasy III themed DS's are getting released in Japan along with the Black version. I'm surprised the US haven't got the Black DS Lite yet? Are there more people with i-pods or something in Europe, Japan or something? The market over there in the US is massive, so why its not released yet is anyones guess?

I think that FF3 themed DS looks sweet.
