Mine has a dark patch about 1cm squared just off top left centre. Not really noticable unless you tilt it.

Just got SFZ3 with new D-Pad and Gradius Portable so it's getting at least some play since Ridge Racer.

Getting my first DS next week so I'll probably be on Metroid all the time.

LOL get yourself firmware 1.5 and that will seem as pointless as it is.

You can play all six of those games on PSP emulators? I'm not sure that's true.

Or the flip side to that statement is that now you can enjoy the features of 2.6 *and* play all the Metal Slug games, which makes it look pretty pointless to cling on to the outdated firmware 1.5.

There's been lots of reports of these things packing up after a few days use, check avforums.co.uk. I wouldn't trust them myself.

Just wondering if they might be cheapo chinese knockoffs. Still.. I've started bidding on one in Gloucester, which is close enough for me to drive to and beat the **** out of anyone who sends me duff goods.

You can also get them from this guy, but they tend to go for ?35 + postage. I've had one for a few weeks now and it's still working perfectly. The packaging and everything looks genuine too and I'd bet money on it not being a "cheap knock-off" (or an expensive one for that matter )

I seem to be going against the trend here though, I recently sold my DS for a PSP and so far I'm definately glad that I did. I got one pretty cheap (Jap PSP value pack, 9 games and spiderman 2 UMD for ?240 inc. special delivary postage), and I haven't stopped playing it in weeks. Add in the 2g memory stick and breath of fire 3 and I'm really spoilt for choice on what to play. And when I do get bored of the games I currently have theres worms, daxter, syphon filter, outrun, gta, possibly field commander and tales of eternia to buy.

And of course theres the 2g of space to fill up with movies and scrubs episodes :P

They may well work just fine but there's no way they can be real Sony unless someone is eating a huge loss somewhere down the line. Check out the real prices on these things. A 2GB Sony is still ?130 on Play and that's not even the high speed version. I am tempted to buy one and check it out though.

I saw a guide about how to spot fake ones somewhere, I can't recall where though, sorry.
Supposedly the formatted size is different to a genuine Sony or Sandisk one (fakes are available for both brands). Problems include losing saves, refusal to save and corrupt save files. Even if it functions fine today there's no guarantee it will continue to do so.

Not sure how up to date it is though, there may be a new wave of fakes by now.

                              Picture this:
My daughter is asleep, I'm off work cause my wife's ill (currently drinking a cuppa on the sofa) and I've got maybe an hours gaming to look forward to. Me And My Katamari arrived today (posted last Wednesday from VG+!!).
                              WooHoo?

                              No.

Because the morons at SCEA won't let me update my firmware to 2.60 to play MAMK because the battery level is too low - EVEN THOUGH IT'S ON THE MAINS!

                              Idiots.

So to conclude: I love my PSP. I hate SCEA.
