I love chess but, because few of my friends do, I seldom have anyone to play with and so a game that can be played over Live is something of a godsend as far as I'm concerned. As someone a few posts back has already mentioned however - it should definately include an option to limit the time spent on each move as it's really annoying playing with people who spend between 5 and ten minutes calculating every move.

I've been looking for details on the options, and there's a Q&A here - sadly it appears that the chess engine has been dumbed downDisappointed with that actually, and the lack of timer is making this far less appealing now. There's far greater abuse potential with a lack of timer IMO.
Oh, and Mancala which is probably the least known of the games included here is worth reading up on as it's an interesting strategic game.

I do actually - as already stated by your very self, Xbox live is abreft with unscrupulous idiots ( i.e., people who'll just quit when losing ). I suspect the number of people on my friends list who'll want to play this is limited, and playing randoms is a nightmare at best - couple this with the inability to set any kind of options such a move limits ( so people losing will sit there forever and force you to quit ) and a purchases loses its appeal somewhat.Last edited by MartyG; 31-07-2007, 19:32.

So how dumbed down is the engine - what sort of handicap level does it play at? Does it posses draw plays in fortress situations? How play deep does it go? Is it going to sucumb to cheap sacrifice moves?
@ 400 points I'll likely make this a purchase anyway, just seems a missed oportunity as I suspect this isn't going to appeal so much to the casual gamer.Last edited by MartyG; 31-07-2007, 20:19.
