Yeah early 2007 for release afaik. Hopefully it's soon enough to not effect it like the lack of Mario title did GC lineup, doesn't look like it should be a problem though, but regarding 3rd parties and Nintendo treatment of the controller, doesn't excite truck use near enough exactly the same control scheme? :P

If the 360 fiasco is anything to go by - Game in store is your best bet....

I say Gameplay , they've never let me down and I really don't see NCL having the sort of problems M$ did with the 360.

Yeah, suddenly Im not so hyped after watching that clip. From wanting one at US launch, Im thinking I'l try before I buy now.

Was thinking that myself after seeing the TH vid - but if you look at some of the other games, it seems a lot more responsive - so maybe it's just bad coding?

Surely you'll be able to calibrate sensitivity of the controller to suit? Whilst I have no interest in another Tony Hawk game, they'd be daft not to include an option to set the sensitivity the individual requires it.

I reckon it'll be like the Cube and DS etc, plenty of units in store on release so you can just stroll in and get one.

One thing I want to know is, who's planning on getting a US/Jap machine vs. a PAL Wii?

Reason I'm asking is that for some time, I've only bought import Nintendo stuff, mainly due to their poor release timetables for Europe. I've got a great back catalogue of about 30 GC games that I'd like to run on my Wii, but the Connect thing is making me think... are Nintendo gonna lock this into territories, US Wii means you need a US IP address? Any ideas?

Nobody knows, and nobody probably will until it's released. I'm gonna get a PAL Wii as I don't think Nintendo Europe do too bad atm, and if it takes the piss, or a game I really need comes out exclusives elsewhere, I'll get an import Wii as well if need be. But my decision is less swayed as my GC collection is like 40% PAL 40% US and 20% Japanese.

That's where I'm kinda thinking as my collection is 95% US 5% Japanese and I have a lot of games I have not even started yet alone completed: MP:Echoes, Paper Mario, Tales of Symphonia, Skies of Aracdia.

I figured a PAL Wii + keep my Switched NTSC GameCube set up is probably the easiest route for me to take.

I don't know about that, Not with the Wii shipping world wide and no doubt selling a ton alone in Japan

I think I'm gonna wait until after launch before making a decision on this one. I've got enough GC, 360, PSP and DS stuff to play (as well as thinking of getting a PS2 again!).

I?ve not touched a PAL Nintendo console in years (save handhelds) and I?m not looking to change that with the Wii. However, due to obvious desires in wanting to take advantage of the virtual console I?m faced with a conundrum where I?m going to have to wait until after the US launch to find out whether its online functions are even accessible on an import model in the UK. The worst part is if it transpires that it does all work just fine, I too am of the belief that by that point there probably won?t be any allocations of consoles left available overseas to import.
