I'm chuffed to bits with all this 'Channel' stuff which is almost like the Marketplace. My only other wish was for VOIP via the Wiimote which of course would have indivdual 'players' as we now know thanks to Mii!

? Will the Wii be region-free? Yes. Like the Nintendo DS, the Wii will be able to play games from other regions, such as Japan, without any restriction. Kaplan implied there might be a region lock that publishers would be able to flip on, but it doesn't sound like the first-party titles from Nintendo will be restricted.

Will Virtual Console stuff be available everywhere, even if it didn't get a PAL release originally? If they put Earthbound on the Wii and don't let me have it I'm gonna be pissed.
I must add, it would be a bloody shambles if Virtual Console content downloaded in PAL territories was anything other than 60hz. I'm interested to see what happens there. If all downloads were optimised to run at both with the user making their choice in the menu, that's fine, but at minimum they ought all be 60hz.

So what five titles would you buy on launch ?
(I was hoping for Zelda, Mario Galaxy, Metroid Prime 3, Tramua Centre 2, Monkey Ball Banana Splitz and Battalion Wars II. )
Still it will allow me more time to save up for one

Very happy to hear that games will be region-free. Probably will be importing a US console anyway unless all the import sites really are charging ridiculous prices.
But, what's all this talk about possibly not being able to connect to the internet on a imported machine in the UK, surely nonsense?
