Probably a 7 or 8 out of ten for everyone else then, being official and all....

Although I must say, this and Mass Effect 2 are the two stars on my horizon at the moment, and I am looking forward to this more than i realised.

I adored Fahrenheit, and that got mixed reviews between 7 and 9 as well.

I was under the impression that OPM isn't that generous at all. Dutch OPM certainly isn't, giving Killzone 2 and MGS4 no more than 90&#37; and UC1 below that IIRC.

Still I miss the attitude of SSM, they simply tore games apart and it didn't matter if they were from Sega in-house or not. They made short work of the PSX in the process too

Yeah SSM were great. Just the right levels of fanboyish. Seem to remember them ripping into Sega Touring Car and House of the Dead, despite them being major releases. House of the Dead would have been fine were it not for the mid level load times. Thank god developers learnt how to stream levels...

I'm interested in Heavy Rain but one of the big failings in the marketing is showing what the game actually is. They say it's not a big budget Dragons Lair but I've only ever seen QTE gameplay. Now it's this close to release I don't want to watch the trailers for fear of spoilers.

Think this will probably end up low down in my gaming queue due to the immense number of quality titles coming out in the spring.

I think it'll be a bit of a marmite game. I think if you play it and like it, it will grip you until you're done. However, you might not be done once you've finished it.

To be fair to OPM they don't tend to just score highly just because it's a first party title. I remember they gave Motorstorm: Pacific Rift an 8 when many publications & sites were giving higher & only scored Heavenly Sword a 7, again a fair bit lower than elsewhere. For me they underscored both by a point, so hopefully that means I'm going to come away from playing Heavy Rain, thinking it worthy of a 10.

Having already spoilt the game by playing a demo of it I'd recommend holding off and just waiting for the real deal guv.

I'm hugely surprised they're even releasing one.

They released one for Farenheit/Indigo Prophecy, if they can do the same they did for that one. It would be a treat to check it out.
