I thoroughly enjoyed the demo too. The fight in the demo was incredibly intense, just hope it doesn't spawn into 15min qte battles mimicing the matrix like Fahrenheit did.

In some ways this demo was actually more enjoyable than what I played at the Eurogamer Expo a few months ago. I really enjoyed the scenario with Shelby, highly engrossing.
I have played enough of it now to know this is going to be something special, can't wait for the full release.
EDIT - Oh and that trailer is just pure epic!Last edited by ezee ryder; 05-02-2010, 23:32.

I came away from that one feeling a bit "eh" about it. The gameplay mechanics seemed very obscure, and it didn't grab me like the Fahrenheit demo did back in the day.
Though it was a very brief turn I had with it. Poor conditions for playing that type of game really.
I might steer clear of demos now for fear of spoilers...Last edited by Tig; 06-02-2010, 00:10.

One thing I did notice - don't know if anyone else had this happen - was the audio seemingly very poorly recorded or set up or both in the sleazy motel. Volume levels dipping or climbing from line to line, and lots of distortion. I hope that doesn't crop up in the game proper... some pretty decent voice acting, though, and the fight was fairly tense.

Woke up this morning, apart from feeling like **** (still) first thing I thought was "I want to play Heavy Rain".
That can only be a good sign.
Someone I know that works for a certain magazine came out with some interesting points though, claiming that at times the graphics look amazing but sometimes they look quite bad, also that the tearing is more prevalent later in the game.
Tearing has never bothered me to be honest and I personally don't believe the graphics could look as bad as he claims as some points.

Agreed, as I said earlier frame rate issues and tearing etc are always the last things to be locked down so there is a chance that the review code differs from the final retail code.
As for the sound issues, I'd hazard a guess that could be down to the fact it's a downloaded demo, remember the retail disc will be on a blu ray with probably uncompressed sound etc.

I was surprised re-playing the Sleazy Scene when the
Client starts beating her and you go back, everytime I did this quickly but this time I left it just a tiny bit and went back. After scene when I spoke to her she had bruise on her face, I had never noticed that before as I always got back quickly, very well done.
Really hope this demo converts people, this game deserves huge success.

Nice to see a fat old cop as a playable character too, instead of a musclebound wisecracker.
I both sympathise with David Cage and laugh in his general direction; it must be hard trying to talk this up because, well, it is a parade of QTEs and it isn't, going by this demo. I can see this being a few steps short of perfect - I can totally understand Edge's early complaints - but I can also see it being much more of a ride than Fahrenheit. There are moments in here, particularly in the crime scene, that just gave me chills... yet others that made me shake my head a bit. It is a brave step for a developer to take, I think, if the full game is like the demo all the way through. Hope it sells.
