Don't get me wrong, after going HD, I could *never* go back to SD. Just saying that I don't think SD users are crippled as such... if someone couldn't afford a HD screen right now, I'd still wholely recommend a 360. It's a different way of thinking, you don't just turn on your console and put the disc in anymore.

it's one of them things that is more of a 1 way process, you know the picture improves going to HD, but it's only when you regularly play HD and have to go back to SD that you really notice just how much of a difference there is.

I'm still playing my 360 on a 24" CRT SD tv and there are no problems at all really, the visuals still look fantastic, everything is still a step up visually from the PS2/GC/Xbox I can kick someones arse on PGR3 even if they're playing in HD, and I still get my arse kicked by other SD gamers on Ridge Racer, it's not crippling at all, it's merely a less defined image. HD is more like the next step with Composite - RGB than anything else, same game, better image

Sorta agree, though do remember HD gives more screen real estate. This is a pretty big thing IMO. FFXI good example.

yeah, thats true, I have noticed the text on some games is incredibly difficult to read in SD but for most games it generally just seems to be a sharper image so long as they've used a nice size font.

Some people (elsewhere) were saying that the text is very hard to read in DR on SDTV. A bit worrying since my eyesight is bad enough already; I can't afford HDTV

The above three games are NTSC-J Asian versions being sold by a UK seller on Ebay.

Just ordered PGR3 of that same seller too... didn't realise it was for sale as "ntsc" wasn't explicit in the title (I always search for 360 ntsc on ebay).
