They're being very clever actually. They're storing their graphics as vectors rather than bitmaps, and creating the bitmaps on load. Works quite well with their art style.

Anyone else finding this hard as nails? I'm sure it's much harder than it used to be on the SNES, MD etc. Aside from the fact I'm getting my ass kicked repeadedly by the CPU another clue that it's insanely hard is the way the CPU characters wiggle out of a daze in about 1/10 of a second.

Once I get the SP finished the game achievement I think I'll stick to playing this online!

It's always been like that. It was only 1993, people seem to have forgotten lots since then.
        Kept you waiting, huh?

I don't think so, I really don't. I can power through 3rd Strike or Zero 3 barely losing a round.

This is just crazy hard. Reminds me of the SNES version on maximum difficulty.

The Arcade mode is pretty hard. I have played SFII over the years on various formats and cant remember the computer being that quick.

              Maybe i am getting old

                  4:3 bordered.

It isnt as bad as I thought, and you can stretch it if you want.

I'm going to go and set up the PCB just to make sure, but I'm certain of it. 3rd strike and Zero 3 are easy due to supers and air-blocking and parrys and all of that other new ****e. This is SF2, it is difficult.

Game has to be played on level 7, there is no other way to play it ! We used to clear that on snes with no round loses and over 1,000,000 points without breaking a sweat, me thinks it will sadly be different now however

Nothing wrong with the game itself... Only the colours look slightly washed out. It could be doing with a gamma correction tool.

I'm also not a fan of the upscaled resolutions. They always make old games look like ****. Although I always knew it never was going to be old-school 320x240 anyway.

You can change it to whatever size you like in the options, with no loss of speed. Not been online yet, could be a different story.

You can scale it to whatever you like. You can also turn off the scrolling background, which is just as well as it's very annoying.

Seemed harder to me as well, but I think I was just generally better at games back then anyway.

Anyway, it's fairly unspectacular, it's SFII...that's it. I downloaded the demo because I didn't think I'd buy it, I probably won't after all. It's just like it used to be only on a 360. Played it to death back then, not sure I fancy playing it to death again.

The 360 pad (though near perfect) isn't right for this game at all. The CPU is irritating as well.

Oh also, an annoyance in the demo, I think this is the first marketplace demo that doesn't let you see the possible achievements! It just tells you that function is unavailable. I think in terms of gameplay this is the shortest demo I've ever got from the marketplace. I guess they thought "well people are desperate for this ancient game they'll buy it outright anyway"...
