US Wii: Preorder Details Thread

Ok, so I caved in and bought from ebay. I don't know if I need all the stuff, I'm not sure if I am gonna use the classic controller etc, but I thought it was kind of a good deal. Wii + an extra nunchuk + classic controller + zelda + exicite truck and *drum roll* a zelda bag. The sum I had to pay was, including the shipment, 295?0?5. So I don't think it was too much. Perhaps it's meaningless to just have a nunchuk without an extra controller. The only problem right now is the customs and how long it will take to get here. The seller has some bad reputation when it comes to late arrivals, there is a pattern with IM, but he seems to have straightened up recently.

Just go and look, tons on there. It just takes time finding one that will deliver to the UK I think, they do exist though.

Yep, this is true. You can get decent enough prices, but finding one that ships to the UK is the hard part.

Been reading this thread since its inception, and had trials and disasters of my own with trying to score a u.s Wii at launch but mine's finally shipped from a place that no one's talked about recently, so I thought I'd share my info with whoever's still looking for one.

Goldenshop in Hong Kong have u.s machines in stock for USD$459, which isUSD$40 cheaper than yesasia, and playasia are currently out of stock.

Goldenshop do EMS shipping and are a very reliable outfit from the experiences I've had with them over the years. They've also been around since the late 90s and were always a great alternative to Lik Sang.

Hopefully this might help the few of us left Wii-less by preorder failures and missing the boat at other retailers.

How long have people who used USPS for their parcel waited for it to come from shipping?

Not posted for a few days through work (Wii) commitments

My US Wii from Play Asia came on Friday (ordered on Tuesday). Hit with ?71 import tax but i'm just glad the baby's here.

What a machine! Absolutely fantastic. Probelms with the updates though but i'm putting that down to my ****E WIFI Max dongle (don't ever buy this). I'm due a router for Chrimbo which should sort everything out.

I've had one crash while playing Wii Sports (whining noise, need to hard reset)...infact, exactly the same as when a Gamecube crashes. No big deal.

Sidenote - refund back into my account from Import Madness (at least they can do something right).

Payment with IM is through World Pay so there'll not be a problem. The only thing is, it'll probably take 2 working days to go back into your account.

3 weeks to reach uk customs

It lay in a new york post office for 5 a week , then the air port for a week
