Finally got mine yesterday, but been too busy with work to post about my 'experience' the past week.
Ordered it off ebay(paid a bit more then i should have). Seller charged a premium to deliver by dhl's fastest option & said would post on the monday after launch. Tuesday night an email turns up saying he has posted it, so i reply asking for a tracking number and when posted. Next evening email turns up saying missed post monday sent tuesday but dhl office closed had to use USPS and no tracking number!
At this point i was starting to get a bit pissed off. sent another email saying did i get a partial refund for not sending as stated in sale, reply came next day saying sorry it had been posted late but there had been a death in the family and yes i could have a $40 refund, well what could i reply with but a sorry to hear that and a no its alright about the refund.
So the weekend after us launch came and went but still no sign of Wii, and to rub salt in Rayman and Tony hawks turned up from Vg+ (who i cancelled my order with which would have been in their first shipment if left)
Tuesday came and i was getting worried that it had been lost or even worse not even been sent, so i sent another email to seller asking if they had any numbers on the receipt for parcel and guess what they sent back? yes a tracking number so i checked usps straight away to find out that it had indeed been sent on the tuesday and had left usa on the wednesday. Kept checking usps and parcelforce website until last thursday it changed to arrived in country. At this point i thought thats me having a great wiikend(couldnt resist). but oh no forgot about parcel force.
Friday morning checked tracking and it was out for delivery, unfortunately i had to work and wife was going to her sisters with kids for the night so no-one in all afternoon. not a problem i thought i could pick up from depot when i finished work. got home from work at about 4pm and sure enough a 'sorry we missed you' was on the mat, but it seems they have changed policy as it said parcel could be picked up from my local post office Saturday after noon. so waited til 5pm and went to p.o. to be told they dont get postie visit til about 5:15. went back at 5:25 to be told sorry no parcel drop. so home alone with no-one in and no wii to play.
Saturday went to p.o. at 11am to be told again no, same at 12:20, 1:45 and 3:30. now very very annoyed.
Monday went to p.o. at 9:20 to be told no. so phoned parcelforce and finaly spoke to someone who passed me on to someone else who told me parcel was with driver and would be with p.o. after 12. went in at 2:30 and guess what, not there. phoned parcelfarce again and spoke to same person who then phoned driver and then told me that driver said he had made a mistake and should have written parcel could be picked up on monday not saturday.
Finally at 4:20 p.o. phoned me to say my parcel had turned up and they were open til 5:30. so ten minutes later was at p.o. collecting it. got it home and opened box it was sent in to find that the wii box had been dropped on one corner, started thinking i just wasnt supposed to have one. Played wii sports for 5 mins and then decided to get the update out of the way, so entered my wireless security details and sarted update, guess what happened, go on? nope it didnt go wrong it updated nicely and i have been playing since last night and i have to say what a great little machine it is. even bought some points using the brazil method.
