US Wii: Preorder Details Thread

As much as I hate that dreaded list that keeps showing me as last to order (my fault I know), can we start updating it again taking off those people who've cancelled. The closer I get to the top the happier I'll feel about all this (hopefully)

Seems these days to get launch consoles and games first/early, you just need to be really stupid/ugly and have a spaz mate. Upload spaz videos of yourselves talking about games in a spaz voice whilst slurring. Then let the E3 invites, free consoles and millions of games pile in.

I think gonna get Zelda (no way I'm gonna miss out on this game come December!) on the GC. And after I've finished it, I'm gonna get a US Wii - they should be readily available by then.

So, has anyone who ordered through DVD Box Office, Import Madness or VG + received an email saying they HAVE got one??

Sounds to me as if Canada is pretty screwed with their initial allocations.

I'm still hopefull of DVDBO getting me one in their second batch before November's out, but if i'm being honest now, anything pre-Christmas seems to be realistic.

I read somewhere this week that Canada had been allocated 20,000 units for launch. At the time I thought that was a load of balls - seems it might be an accurate number based on the VG+ situation.

I think a lot of people are in the mindset that ' i have so much to play in the meantime ' which is quite a good one.. im currently leaning that way also. Although if I see some stig child playing Zelda on a saturday morning TV show or something and I myself don't have a Wii i'll probably top myself.

Yeah, we'll live. With Gears of War, Call of Duty 3, Lost Planet, Rainbow 6, Viva Pinata and others all out this fall, not to mention the HD-DVD drive my 360 will be seeing a *lot* of action.

If so, why ? I'd have thought we'd seen the last of 50hz ****ty ports ? Please tell me it's got 480p as well ???

Has anyone used IM before as they dnt reply to emails. The only one ive had is when i ordered and got my confirmation. When is the best time to call them?

Nintendo Europe's record with release dates doesn't exactly inspire confidence, and that's the main reason why people are going down the import route.

I bought a US xbox1 off them way back at launch - Comms weren't the best but it turned up and I got everything I should've so I wouldn't worry - The fact they're still on the go after all this time bodes well.

Arses. Going to stick it out though - GOW and GH2 in the next couple of weeks, so they can get the attention they deserve.

I take it there won't be any US/Canadian sites that we could secure a preorder from at this late stage?

I've got plenty to be getting on with... FFXII, .hack GU, Sonic 360, PSU etc, so it's a little more bearable.

Certainly not going the short term solution of a PAL machine, and I'm banning myself from Zelda on GC - want the Wii version to be my first experience with the title.

On the positive, they will be dispatching Metal Slug Anthology, Super Monkey Ball Banana Blitz and Call of Duty 3 to gather some dust here.

Ain't VG+'s fault of course, and cancelling your preorder won't bring any better luck, so I don't see the point.

I did the rounds of Dublin game shops and came away with nothing. Game tells me they're doing a midnight launch and queueing on the night might get you one if you're lucky. I'm going to give it a go but I'm really not fussed anymore. The only REAL drag is no Zelda over Christmas but I really have a load of stuff to play through.

I've got no probs with VG+. I'll leave my order with them.
