I'm going to resist short-term nonsense temptations to get a PAL machine, keeping my preorder at VG+, hopefully get a console when they can get hold of them.

They aren't getting a launch allocation at all, but they'll fullfill orders as soon as they can

TBH I think I can wait for them to come through. Like Shakey_Jake I'm not splashing the money for a PAL unit to flog it when my US one comes.

I've got enough to keep me occupied game wise in the meantime.

Oh well. I'm still fairly high up the list, and at least this gives me a chance to see what the region-freeness of VC etc is like first, and time to get a component cable.

Mind, in fairness to VG+ it's not their fault and I can appreciate they must be pretty narked at the situation as well.

Seems the Wii's been such a massive hit in North America that Nintendo were seriously under estimating how many units they'd need.

Well, I'm 4th on the list of NTSC customers so am still hopeful of receiving it before Xmas. TBH, so long as I do get mine before Santa visits it may be a blessing in disguise - I can lose myself in Zelda over my 2 week Chrimbo break rather than a couple of hours here and there which would have been the case late November/early December.
