US Wii: Preorder Details Thread

www.dvdstars.com (another Canadian site) mailed me a while ago saying that they will be able to ship the Wii on release day for any new orders taken.

Are they legit/reliable? Aldo, was actually all set to go with them but they don't seem to offer courier shipping which lets the whole thing down.

hmmm now i am worried i didn't order mine until the 11th yet when i spoke to him he seemed sure it would be ok

was yours for a new order or for a existing order?

I would never recommend dvdstars to anyone!

I ordered a game from there that was in stock, 3 weeks later it still hadn;'t been dispatched and I had heard nothing from them yet they had taken the money from my account the same day as I ordered.

I got in touch with them via e-mail and a week later still had no response so I sent them another e-mail telling them to cancel my order and refund my money, again I never heard a word back from them but a week or so later my money finally ended up back in my account.

My only recommendation about this company is to avoid them like the plague.

Oh well - may have been a one off, and its not like he didn't get the cash back, plus the guy two posts down in that thread seemed perfectly happy with them. I'll keep going for a week or so after launch (or until we get an update from VG+), and get it cancelled if it doesn't look like its going anwhere.

From your conversation you had it sounds like you should be fine. He was mainly talking about newer orders.

This is crazy, i have always used dvdboxoffice for my games and the one time I go somewhere else they actually get stock!! Has VG+ rubbed someone up the wrong way?

When did you order? From reading through this thread it looks like the 21st Sept? I ordered on the 20th and nothing seems to have happened in my account yet. It says 'Order will be processed shortly' at the top but I think that's been there before now. They had better be shipping these things in the order they were preordered or I shall be rather annoyed!

I hope it arrives for you. My DBDBO order went tits up. One thing is certain I am not paying Play Asia prices for a US Wii.

I'll give it a while until I pay the real price for the machine, not twice the price. Even the Japanese Wii is ?100 more than it should be.

I'll make do with a UK Wii until things settle and sell it on.

The yesasia price is a absolute last resort for me. The good thing about yeasia though is it's free shipping and you don't get customs. So what you pay upon ordering is what you'll only ever pay. I don't mind paying stupid money for the machine if it means getting a US one. It will pay for it's self in the long run because games are cheaper to import from Canada than buying in the UK!

It might take 1-2 weeks to turn up from yesasia but I wont be using it until I can get a component cable in the UK anyway.
