I daresay as a big name in consumer technology Sony has a fair amount of clout when it comes to production.

I pre-ordered at Gamestation only. I'm putting a lot on this since the 8th is my birthday.

I have decided to cancel my Pre-Order from Play.

In the end if it turns out that the Connect system will work for US machines in the UK, then US is the way to go.

I want to take a chance and support NOE, but from past experience I know that they have no power or control over anything. Will wait until after Xmas now and go for a 360 Christmas.

Comet (instore) have started taking deposit's today, only tenner deposit, and your not forced into buying any bundles etc

TBH, I've got no problem with bundles on a new console, as long as there is a bit of choice. After all, you are gonna want to get another game apart from Wii Sports to test out your shiny new system.

I've cancelled my pre-order with Play today, might as well wait to see what happens with the US machines. Besides, there's so many games coming out for other platforms that I'm hardly going to be at a loose end. If the numbers are true I should be able to pick up a PAL console anyway if there's some AAA titles at launch.

Sheer shameless advertising here but if you live in Wembley or around the area this might be worth your while. Gamestation in Wembley are putting up a Wii incentive where every person who does a pre-order (?20 to pre order) before Monday 2nd October also goes into a prize draw where they can win a free Wii game of their choice on launch.

I went last week to my local Gamestation here in Glasgow to check on the preorders only to discover I would be 45th down the list. So I didnt pre-order it but with all the hype surrounding the launch of of the wii I feel compelled to pre order one just to be on the safe side. So what do you guys think? Would there be any shortages or would I be able to pick up one without the preorder?

Ninty say there will be loads of stock. Put that through your bull**** filter and make of it what you will. Personally it's probably worth pre-ordering even if you are 45th on the list since a major city store like Glasgow should get plenty to go around. ****, my local GameStation (in Poole) got 50 360s last year and they were like ZOMG SOLD OUT!!! everywhere.

Name one Nintendo UK launch that was a sell out on launch day? None, even the Cube, the best selling console at the time still had plenty of stock floating about for a couple of days.

I preordered at GAME in Worcester two weekends ago and my receipt say 003, so I presume i'm thrid....decided to go PAL, haven't doen that since the days of the SNES but can't be arsed with potential wiiconnect issues, bit miffed about the RGB issues though!

I remember picking up the last launch Cube in Bristol (well maybe not the last one but it took me 5 or 6 shops before I found one) the following week after launch (Wednesday or Thursday) after my brother had raved about Monkey Ball for a few days.

The N64 sold out on launch day in the UK. But having that said that, only 20,000 units were made avaliable in the UK on launch day.

cube launched with 500,000 units in Europe. Sounds like the Wii is well on target to launching with at least 1,000,000.

Mine's pre ordered from GAME anyway
