Yeh, I got the Argos call stateing I would get delivery On Wednesday.

Bull****!!! They did have a page stateing the Wii would be delivered to you on the 8th,,

Byg, the argos issue, someone posted a screenshot previously in this massive thread, i have it on my desktop and will be reporting them for false advertising (if the page is classed as an advertisment)

if the ASA doesnt class it as an advert the fair enough, i dont want to personally start legal stuff. but they should have their knuckles wrapped for false promises.

if it is a valid complaint i will let you know and you can all make the same complaint

it may well be that they didnt get all the wiis they were expecting, but that is their problem and should have not promised in the first place. it could easily have been worded differently. I used to work in online marketing and all the copy (text on the site) we had written had to go through the lawyers who picked up on the smallest issues.

Please let me know if you find it as I really feel pi$$ed about this. They took my money in October and I'm 99% sure they guaranteed me a unit tomorrow. Need to find some written info confirming this though.

Just to be really afraid and geeky: Is there any way they would give my order to someone else or is it specifically saved for you when it arrives? I don't think I'm going to be in the store first thing now after what Huxley said but I want to make sure it is there, has my name on it, and will STILL be there when I decide to go down at some point tomorrow, if and when they let me know.

I don't understand how this limbo-feeling can be acceptable. I just want them to give me a ****ing straight answer for goodness sake. How hard is it to put on the website "You are in the first allocation which you will be able to pick up on Friday once it arrives in store. Please wait for the e-mail/text message before making your way down". I've got a feeling they don't give a flying **** about me, contacting me, ensuring my order is saved for me in store or care that they've taken out ?180 without letting me know what the dillio is! /anger

Most of these cock ups are because of the state of play with the Nintendo distribution depo in Germany - so if any one needs a slap its them. Not the retailers.

Just to add some more to the mix...

My game.co.uk order still cannot be tracked on the Parcelforce site (and although they say the order number is different to what appears on parcelforce, my tracking number is like half the length of 'usual' PF tracking numbers). So who knows if it's going to turn up or not tomorrow.

And in other news, my colleague here just got a call from his wife, who pre-ordered a Wii for him from the Argos pre-order page after I tipped him off just 10 days ago, and she is sitting with the bloody console on her office desk RIGHT NOW. Now, we are all up in Aberdeen, so is it possible that Argos have been distributing consoles to various regional warehouses in advance and dispatching to local pre-order customers from there? (e.g. North East Scotland Argos warehouse gets say 500 consoles, but we have much less demand than down South, so pre-orders are actually able to be fulfilled quickly?) Hmmmm

I ordered in October also, so i dont understand why some people who ordered in November have been told they well get their Friday...

I phoned and asked them before placing my order,, the CS Staff member said, Yes, no problem, if you order now you will get it on launch day.

Then i asked agin this Tuesday I was again told my order had been allocated and id get delivery Friday...

Ordered mine on the 17th October. Still getting the same messgae when I check up on order online "Awaiting stock from suppliers. Stock expected by 08/12/2006.". However if I check the actual item details I get "Please note - shipping begins on 8th December direct from our suppliers. Until then, please ignore the delivery availability message you will see in your basket view next to this item". Doesn't really tell me anything. Who knows what tomorrow holds!!
