Originally posted by JusatsushiTurrican! There's not enough games like that these days, and everything about the series from tone, pace, challenge and playability was so spot on. I'd love a Viewtiful Joe style game based on something similar, visually VJ though mind, they should keep its run and gun nature intact. I also loved the shmup bits too, so yeah, in my perfect world a run and gun with the playability and style of Turrican with the odd shmup bit for me. We need more 2d gaming these days... it still has so much to offer.
Wouldn't mind a new Darius game either. We've had some decent shmups in the likes of Gradius V and R-Type Final, (among oothers) but I really do miss fighting those giant mechanical space fish.Loved the designs of those bosses, and that great WARNING! message before they appear.

Likewise, I-War, Freespace 2 and Privateer 2 - the genre needs to be brought back.
Homeworld and its sequel were very enjoyable, but to be put back in the pilot seat of a space fighter in a decent and well-written game would be great.

Originally posted by NekoFeverThere need to be more games like Ultimate Ghosts 'n' Goblins.
I don't mean exactly like that because I don't like my games to be maddeningly, masochistically hard, but I mean that they should bring more classic franchises back with that visual style ... Fundamentally 2D gameplay with a 3D makeover.

In that order
I'm also down with all the Last Ninja suggestions. I will be playing through these again on a C64 or Speccy emulator on my DS forthwith. I think a 3D Last Ninja now with stealth may be a little too much compared to Metal Gear, or any of the various ninja-'em-ups we've seen over the last few years, but I'm sure a killer hook like the puzzle aspects could make it stand above even the mighty Ninja Gaiden Black. I'd also like to make an effort to get to know Dun Darach and that set of games, because they look like they were really rather good, but I simply didn't have the capacity to understand what was going on that much outside of getting increasingly lost. Perhaps some sort of remake is in order there too.
Another Magic Knight game would be lovely also! Although again one with slightly less obscure puzzles, yet without the mildly irritating hand-holding of games like Another Code. More point and clicks for DS would be lovely actually. Perhaps we will see a new Broken Sword for DS
The funny thing about the vast majority of these suggestions for remakes is the overwhelming desire among us retro lovers (perhaps this should have ended up in Retro after all!) for games that IMO would 9 times out of 10 fit absolutely perfectly on the DS, whether it be due to the touch screen or the fact that 2D seems to really belong on the system, what with so many developers misunderstanding the PSP and lumbering it with 3D PS2 downgrades. Surely that's more of an incentive for developers to try out these projects on DS, because development costs would be so minimal compared to the stupidity of PS3 and, to a lesser degree, X360.
Anyway, keep them coming, it's making for interesting reading

And while where're at it, I'd die for a new RPG/Brawler Hybrid in the same vein as the abovementioned title.
Just imagine a 4-player version, where you clear the streets with your little gang (consisting of your real buddies), while playing locally or even over the net, without any slowdown (the good old nes version slowed to a crawl in multiplayer-mode). A DS version would be awesome ^_____^
I'd also like to see a new Turrican game.
Btw there's a german project, that tries to do an inofficial sequel-type thing. Here are some screens on their homepage:

Two games I would like to see remakes of are Little Big Adventure and Colonization. I enjoy Civ, but I liked the way that Colonization was more 'zoomed in' and had a proper ending and something to aim for. I was completely blown away by LBA when it first came out and played it non-stop until I completed it. Admitedly that didn't take long - it wasn't the most difficult game in the world but I loved every minute while it lasted.

it has to be action scrollers / platformers or platformers with a pinch of the old RPGs. The PSP and DS are made for things like that, as the superb Gokumakaimura, Exit, Castlevania DS, Princess Crown prove.
Games that desperately need a PSP update include the aforementioned Demons Crest/Blazon or a brand new Gargoyle game (I have pressed Capcom on this in an interview, so the seeds of that idea have been sown - fingers xxxx'd), Wonderboy, Tomba, Geomon (please give us an English version), SYmphony of The Night, and of course on the DS, Metroid. I would also love to see a PSP version, perhaps in emulation, of The Divide: Enemies Within.

Oh, I know that Gauntlet's lost its way a little, but I'd love for someone to do a 4-player online-enabled version for DS, comprising all the original levels of 1, 2 and Deeper Dungeons, with the facility to save at the start of each level, so you could play your way through and actually try to survive the lot in solo mode, and an ending.
