the first games that spring to mind are PSO, Goldeneye, Shenmue, Tetris Attack, Polarium, Ikaruga, Guitar Hero and Amplitude...
...all beaten by a mile by the streetfighter series, god only knows how many hours i've put into those games, 3S especially. There's something about having a hectic batle with a couple of mates and some beers that simply cannot be beaten

Originally posted by Concrete donkeyThe Civilization Games are the most addictive games known to me. My entire life is put on hold for months at a time everytime one of these comes out and was responsible for my lack of revision during my A-Level exams (To an extent that I banned all games from my life in my final year of University)
With Story based games there's Deus Ex (PC) and Oblivion (PC) but they in no way compare to Civilization 2.
Civ 2 has a different sort of addictiveness. I can go for months without a game, but once I start one, food, sleep, personal hygiene etc are all put to the back of the queue until the game's finished. Not even Football manager does that for me - I can at least think "OK, I'll continue it tomorrow" on management games.
