Off topic question (but still Wii-based) - Has anyone else noticed that unless you delete Wii messages received, it will still show you how many messages you have in the bottom right of the Wii Channel screen?

Does this mean that, say for example you get 2 messages in one day, even once you have read them, the 'number of messages' icon on the Wii Channel screen will still show as having 2 messages? Is the only way to get that number back to zero to delete the messages?

Strange query I know and I hope it makes sense

Thanks in advance for your help

    Dan

I've noticed that, but it only shows what you've received today. I figured that was just because the "what have you played" thing will constantly update so is never really read until the next day

Correct - And if you use the calendar you can review messages from previous days also. Dunno how many/far back it retains though.

Here's a weird one that I only noticed after downloading some VC titles and giving them a go...

All the pre-N64 stuff at least seems to have some form of save state if you use menu to exit the game. This is great but what's REALLY annoying is if you then return to the VC game it annoyingly automaticall pops up the home menu screen straight away. Why the hell couldn't it just reload the game and let you pick a save state from the menu screen if you wish?

It's not even consistant either! Some games don't do it!

Been having a problem with the remote turning itself off while playing wii sports. No problem at all with wii play, but when i started playing wii sports it did it numerous times. Thought I must have been accidentally hitting a button on it, but there's no button that just switches off the remote. Wondered if maybe I'm knocking the batteries loose?

            Anyone else having this problem?

Have you tried using a different nunchuck? Seems to be a connection issue.

Also, something odd happened to my wii this evening. I pressed the power button on the Wii (to turn it off) and the power led stayed green longer than usual (about 10 secs) before flashing the blue led once and going into standby mode. Dunno what went wrong there but it seemed to function normally when i powered on and powered off again. Any ideas?

Im having trouble with my wii picture,

basically im getting these small white pixels that flash on and of in various places, and lines that appear whilst playing games,

im using an official wii component cable on a brand new hd tv,

1st off mt tv is not at fault as i dont get this problem on any other component system like the 360 ps2 ect, and ive tried my freinds wii setup on my tv and it works perfectly, and i treid my wii on 2 differnet tvs and the problem is still there!

2nd, my cable is not the problem as ive tried 2 different components and 2 different av leads and i still get the pixel problem on my console,

and i use these leads on my freinds console and no problems at all,
so it must be my wii console of the av port which has a fault, any ideas on this?

ive tried almost all of yesterday and most of this morning to contact nintendo helpline but its always engadged and when i finnally got though they slam the phone down like they dont give a crap before i could even say hello!!!!!!,

does anyone know how to fix this or another nintendo number i could use ?

thanks for your time and help

Sorry no idea about the above query but regarding the stick centering issue, I too get that in Zelda but, strangely, ONLY when I'm in first person mode.

It will randomly start moving in one direction when I enter first person mode (sometimes) but actually standing 3rd person there is no problem. Very, very strange! It doesnt bother me as it doesn't really affect the game at all, and its not as bad as if it moves link as well.

hehe, that'll be the wii remote pointer working against the nunchuk....that always bugs me. Basically in first person mode you can look around by using the nunchuck stick OR by moving the wiimote pointer to the edges of the screen. Usually when I enter first person mode I relax my right hand and therefore the wiimote starts moving my view!

Oh, right! I've done that when going into slingshot or arrow mode and it then says to aim at the screen. Seems more relaxed with 1st person mode then. D'oh, my silly!

For some reason my wiimote appears not to be working.

It starts okay, then the light fades on the wiimote and it turns itself off.

I've tried new batteries but no luck. Any suggestions or is it knackered?!

Hit the sync button on the Wii and Remote again. If that doesn't work, unplug the machine for a few seconds, plug it in again and away you go!
