very dissipointed with you nintendo mind you they always treat europe like ****
Sorry to hear your problem, sounds like a duff console from the testing you did.
Unfortunately, the 247 number is the only way you will get through, forget the email address, I emailed them 4 times about my faulty Wii and never got a reply at all. Which was ****. Best advice is to start calling them at just going on 8.30am, you should at least get in the queue then with maybe 5 to 10 mins wait, through the day seemed to be permanently engaged or the minimum queue length was about 20 minutes.

If you can get through, they should return a replacement to you pretty fast if they have replacements in stock (obviously after they receive your faulty one back), but don't expect them to email you saying they posted it. Overall, not a good show on the communication front from their support dept.

      thanks for the advise

ive registerd 6000 points to the v console. would they replace those as well?

surely they send a courior around to collect and exchange a faulty unit? or will i have to pay postage as well because of their faults?

i bet microsoft have a automated computer dialing the nintendo 24 number all day lol, so no one can ever get connected,

Apparently they have a way to transfer any data from your old console to the replacement, but i would make sure your covering letter etc clearly notes the fact you have 6000 points. I read in the states that faulty Wiis were replaced like you suggest i.e. courier swap but not over here (in any case that would probably only work if you had no saved data on the console). I asked (well, firmly asked) in my covering letter to have the return postage cost reimbursed but nothing at all in the returned box, not even a covering slip saying 'sorry for the incovenience'. When I get around to it, i'm sending a letter off to their HQ to complain about that and general lack of efficiency in the call centre (especially about lack of email response). At least my replacement console is working perfectly (touch wood ). Good luck!

I've just moved house and my Wii is totally stressing me out!!

It can find the router in my house (its a livebox 9600 by Orange) and it will accept the security code fine. then when it tests the connection: I get a ERROR 51330 notification.

I even tried to restore the router to the original factory settings, which didnt work, as people have recommended doing that.

Does anyone know a work around?

I wonder what the official figure is for DOA or 'quickly faulty' UK consoles? Seems that it's even worse trying to get through on the phone now than before Christmas. I guess there were quite a few sad faces on Christmas morning (unless all the phone calls are just people trying to connect to their wireless routers of course).

All these faults are to be expected, of course, (especially on a new system) but the lack of increased customer service support to cope with the extra demand is inexcusable.

OMG IVE HAD ENOUGH!!! this is a Discrace,

i got up at 8 am managed to get through at 9.25 after constantly dialing.
i was then put on hold for 40 minutes+ and when i finnaly got through, i was told by some dumb bitch, that i could take it back to the shop, ( hmm like they will have stock) and i would loose out fo £45 of points,

i was told i could post it back for a replacement, and they would not pay for postage, and i would have to wait at least 2 weeks for them for replace it and post it back, and when i asked for the address she simple said look in the manual near the back!!!

ive spent thousands and thousands on nintendo from the very beginning and this is how they treat us, i dont want to taint nintendos name but i might let watchdog know,

this is off topic, but i had 7 faulty pal psp consoles, each one one replaced the next day by couriour no problems whatsoever!!! and they were happy to do this.

                      Waaaah! Danger, Will Robinson!

Terrifying Wii message a couple of nights back. I was playing around with settings in order to buy some Wii points with my UK credit card on my NTSC US Wii, and changed my location to Brazil, then had to agree to the end user license agreement junk again. Suddenly, up popped a message like:

Your Wii system memory is corrupt. Please contact Nintendo customer support.

                      (Or something similar)

The console then froze - it appeared to be on, but wouldn't respond to anything. Taking some advice from previous poor buggers on this forum, I held down the power button for about 10 seconds until it powered off, then switched it back on again.

All appears to be fine, but I'm somewhat twitchy to say the least about touching anything to do with my system memory again!!!

                      Anyone else seen similar grief?

On a couple of occasions after quitting Zelda and returning to the Wii Menu, my Wii has emitted a repeated clicking / grinding noise that lasts a few seconds and is much louder than any noise it normally makes.

It only seems to happen with Zelda, and it doesn't appear to cause any damage to the disc, but it worries me all the same

Bugger, I think I'm having a similar problem to you! My Wii has been working fine for over a week now, but yesterday I played Rayman for the first time and noticed that there seemed to be random coloured "flickery pixel dot things" flashing on the screen. Their number increased when I went into a mini-game. It seems kind of similar to when a PC graphics card screws up.

At first I thought it was just Rayman (as I reset the console and the flickery pixel dot things were gone) so I tried reloading it, using different screen settings (576i 50hz, 480i 60hz, 480p 60hz) but the same result. Swapped the component cable for the composite cable, same thing again, stupid coloured dots on the screen.

Then I loaded up Monkey Ball and saw that I now had the same coloured dots on the screen during that (not as pronounced as during Rayman though). A quick reset and yup, I have a few floating about on the Wii main page as well Another weird thing is that before my games would fill up the whole screen, but since this problem started I have black borders down the side of the screen when playing games, but not on the Wii main page. It's bloody weird!

So I'm going to be on to Nintendo to sort out a replacement, but after yesteryeargames stories I doubt it's going to be a smooth experience! I will be very pissed off if they make me pay for the delivery when it's their console that has gone wrong! Tight bastards.

On the phone with Nintendo right now.. well, on the phone with their recorded message! It took me fifteen minutes to get past the engaged tones. Now I've been waiting just over seven minutes. My waiting time at the start was 32 minutes 0 seconds, it's now 36 minutes 15 seconds I believe they need to employ a few more phone operators!

Wow, anyone would have thought this was the 360 support thread. Sounds like Nintendo are up against it at the moment. I guess they didn't realise the scale of potential faults.

Finally got through after about 36 minutes, but at least everything was quick and smooth when I did get through. Plus the female operator at the other end of the line had a really sexy voice

So I just have to package the console up, send the receipt and a letter explaining the problem, send it to Nintendo and hopefully I'll get a replacement console in the not too distant future.

Being an idiot I forgot to mention that I bought the console from someone else, so it isn't my name or address on the receipt. Hopefully that won't cause any kind of problem!
