      Sorted, cheers!

Don't know why it ever stopped doing that buy at least it's fixed. Now I can get my fix of Vanessa Schneider shaking that thang

        The one in Farlington.

Thanks for that, at least I know there's no point expecting a reply now. ft:

It's two weeks today since they received my Nintendo Wii, but I haven't got the time to spend half an hour waiting on the phone at the mo (bogged down with wonderfully interesting tax returns). I'll probably give 'em a ring after 31st January, if I haven't heard from them before that of course.

Okay, I received my JPN Wii today.

Check the power side and plug everything in. (stepdown)

Once everything is connected I press the power button. The tray flashes blue and the cd drive motor pulls in and out. But there is no signal coming from the Wii. Audio or visual(audio hooked up to my amp). Have tried composite and component on two tv's. The Wii stays powered on and will accept and eject discs.

My tv supports ntsc(just used a composite lead on my US switched cube to make 100% sure).

I know the Wii flashes on bootup, just wondering if the cd motor is meant to pull in and out on boot.

Is my Wii DOA? Want to check if it's a known problem or I'm missing something before contacting yesasia.

Got someone to ring them and they said they'd get back to me later today and confirm if they'd got my wii. Surprise surprise, I still haven't heard anything.

I'll ring again tomorrow and have a 'no holds barred' conversation with them.

If you give them enough hell, they might give you some freebies by way of an apology.

ive been told they would phone back 5 times now, even if the could not find the wii, basically ive been treated like ****, and ive had enough,

some bastard has lost or stolen my wii at nintendo, royal mail can do bugger all as they said it was deliverd, they are looking for the signature of the person who signed for it , hmmmmm . now that i think of it the delivery man could have easily faked a delivery and a signature, so im screwed

oh well only wasted about £260 on the wii , vc points , postage and phone calls.
where can i get a usa wii from at a good price? or does anyone know shiggseys personal address so i can write him a letter on how dissipointed i am that they treat a die hard nintendo fan this way? lol

You never heard of contents insurance? Dropped consoles are covered apparently.

My US Wii arrived today and I'm having some issues with connecting to the net.

I've got a Linksys wireless router, and it picks up the access point fine. Doing a connection test successfully connects after about 20-30 seconds but any application that tries to access the net fails. Wireless security is WEP.

The firmware is 2.0U. Anyone had any similar issues?

Edit, it won't even connect via an unsecure connection.

Edit again, seems setting the IP to manual and changing the channel on my router to 1 sorted it all, strange.

I've had my wii freeze on me a couple of times and i've lost the remote sync while playing too. I just turn it off and on again and it works fine.

Well I'm glad to say I won't have to be wasting time with phone calls to Nintendo to find out where my Wii is, a brand new one turned up in the post five minutes ago! I had no idea what it was at first because I didn't remember buying anything, then I saw the Codestorm House address on the label and thought "Ohhhhhh! Wiiiiiiiiiii!"

It arrived with them on the 8th and it's back with me on the 24th (they posted on the 22nd by Parcel Force 48hr) so that's not too bad a turnaround time seeing as stocks are still quite low.

Even though I only sent them the bare console, they've sent me back a fully boxed new console (def not my old one, different serial no.) with remote, nunchuck, power supply, etc.. The only thing not in the box was a copy of Wii Sports. Getting a free Nunchuck and Remote more than covers the cost of the postage I paid to send my broken Wii to them as well

So I'm happy but they could definitely improve on the support experience. Shorter phone queues and a couple of updates by phone or email to say that they've received the console would be nice. Still, I can't complain too much, I sent them a broken console and I've got a new one in return!

I'll go and test it at lunch and find it's broken now
