I'm now getting the coloured pixel flicker on my Wii but it's NTSC. It's not noticeable all of the time time but is annoying. My only concern is getting it sent back to Nintendo US.
If the reports of Nintendo UK customer service are anything to go by then i'm in for long wait.
I know it's a long shot but has anyone managed to fix the problem themselves?
Is this going to be common with these new consoles. My 360 had to go back and now my Wii.

The coloured pixel problem is why I had to send my Wii back. Tried everything, different video cables, different settings, no combo would work. I don't think it's a problem you can fix without returning the Wii.
I assume it's some kind of problem with the graphics chip as it looks very similar to the kind of problems I had when I overclocked a PC graphics card too much once.

Strange one this. Either the Wii remembers whether you set your games to 60hz or there's something odd happening with the backward compatability on my Wii.
I tried playing P.N.03 today after not playing any GC games for a couple of weeks, and it wasn't showing the 60hz option when loading up. It used to come up every time on my GC. Nonetheless I tried removing my memory card in case it was saving my choice to that, but it still didn't appear.
Next I tried a couple of other games to see if it was just that game or all of them. The option didn't come up on Resi 4 either but it did come up on Metroid Prime.
I remember on the GC you wouldn't get the 60hz option unless you held a button in when switching the machine on - what was that again? Still it's odd because I never needed to do that on my GC, I'd just get the 60hz menu on every compatible game.

Yesteryeargames, you're making feel uneasy. My wii's been with nintendo for over a week now and I've yet to hear from them either. Royalmails website says the wii was delivered to the address but from experience I know royalmail can be just as shoddy as nintendo appear to be.
Have you tried emailing nintendos customer support? If so have they got back to you yet?

Had to send my Wii back to Nintendo USA. It stopped reading discs.. At first they said I had to go to Nintendo UK. They said they woulndt do anything as it was out of the country. I do have a US Postal address as my dad is in the US forces and I tried to explain that and that they wouldnt touch it in UK (which they told me before) They were also very rude on the phone. I also didnt understand why I can get my nintendo subscription from them to my US postal address over here (as they have it as an option) but not the Wii. Fed em some crap that they ONLY ship back using UPS.. Hmm.. funny because then..
Finally called back again and the lady was very helpful and sorted it out. Just have to send the console back to them through US post recorded and then wait for them to repair or replace (they said 2 days max) and then I can start Wii'ng again.
