How I suppose to know if the output is good or not.

I mean Wii sports look fine, and reading text on opera (bbc.co.uk/sports/) and it is not easy to read small text.

What is the best way to judge it output. Just to know if my cable is good enough.

the output is good 480p, its just zelda is a very blurry game(maybe inkeeping with the ocarina look) and the opera browser appears to be operating in a lower res than 640x480 hense the text in parts is blurry.

wii sports and monkey ball both look ace to me.

Yeah it definatly doesn't upscale the games to 480P.

I have problems with my TV where it can't show a 480 image (the screen constantly judders meaniung the image is never stable ). Once you select a VC game, the screen goes black (meaning it's obviously moving to a new setting) and the games play fine (ie no shaking). This is all via component.

Yeah man, it works fine on both TVs. I was just suggesting random things that might prevent it from working, I'm not sure what mode it attempts to put the TV in but it plays OK.

          I've got a 32" Sammy, 32" Hitachi.

Yay!! My official Component cable shipped from PlayAsia on Friday!! Haven't checked my e-mail for a few days so that was a nice surprise in amongst all the spam.

Anyone that is having problems with VC games over component, its your TV, not the cables or the Wii. All my games play fine, the only thing I can suggest is that your TV does not take 50Hz over component.

For all those still waiting to get a cable I went over to Bluewater today and both Games had quite a few own brands and official cables as well.
They also had official scart leads as well.

I brought castlevania and it wouldnt work through component until I switched the console to 50hz, works fine now.

I can actually leave it on 60hz and just press the home button then it switches to 50hz I'm guessing and starts working.

Bomberman works fine without doing it.

I've just got an email from GAME saying they have shipped mine even thought I cancelled it about 2 weeks ago.

I got a component lead in the post this morning (gave up trying to find one here and just paid a bit extra for the Blaze one from VGP) and I'm impressed. I'd actually gotten used to composite on my LCD - the Wii apparently has a relatively good composite signal - and was disappointed when I couldn't even see the difference on the menus, and actually thought composite might have looked better there.

Fired up Zelda in 480p for the first time and bloody hell. It looks like a completely different game. Lots sharper and more detailed (which makes some of the texture work look worse, actually), and makes me far happier with what the Wii is graphically capable of, considering this is both first-gen and a port from less powerful hardware.

Yeah Neko, I had the same experience, the system menus are flicker filtered so look like crap on anything. Then firing up Zelda put a smile on my face.

zelda still looks blurry though even on a native 480p plasma through component.

and my panny handles component probably better than 90% of other sets.

Native 480p plasma? If you're in the UK and using an SD plasma, then it will be native 576p, not 480p. So your plasma will be scaling to 576p. That could account for the blurryness.

Also, how on earth would you know your plasma handles component 'better than 90% of other sets'?

1, its 843x480p ......native, it scales 576p DOWN to 480p for dvd.

2, its a panny 7 series and they are well known for their stunning use of analogue component i have had 3 lcd's and in 480p they couldnt come anywhere near for sd component. i'm sure more panny users on here will have tried the game out on the pwd 6,7,8 series and still find that zelda looks on the blurry side.
