on the back look for 5 inputs - Red, Blue, Green (video) and white, red (audio). If it has that then it can do Component.

Nah, the Virtual Consoles are scaled to the standard Wii output resolution by the Wii itself before going to the TV.
Has anyone found a way to play VC games via component cable? I still can't play Donkey Kong Country, and I deleted the save file and everything. It still gives me a 'mode not supported' black screen.
I guess I'll have to fire off an e-mail to Nintendo.
