Anyone got their Official component leads from Play.com?

I've still got mine pre-ordered without a sign of when they'll be sent to be.

Yeah, I actually put it on a few hours ago and it looked awful, but I'm sure it looked worse than it did on the Cube!? Maybe I'm just so used to the HD goodness now that I think its worse.

I got my Cube controller and mem card out the cupboard today and tried RE4 on my Wii. It's blocky as hell but still looks great, and so much better than Twilight Princess.

The game is still brilliant too, even with the clumsy RE character movement.

It has a bloom filter in the twilight world, but generally the game's environments are built from too few polygons and use incredibly low resolution textures. This is something of a standard thing to say, but in a few cases it's almost true - some of the textures are almost N64 level.

They really did go ott with the bloom. I actually double checked my settings when I first saw the twilight world.

Anyone had this turn up yet? I ordered as soon as I saw this post, so have a "You won eBay item #123456" email dated 7th December 2006 12:49:07 GMT, and a "we have dispatched" email sent at 7:45pm that day.

Got home from Christmas visiting today & this was sitting waiting for me. It said "signature required" on the envelope, so of course the postie had just shoved it through the door - funny how we don't mind this when things arrive safely.

Anyway, I have to confess to being a bit disappointed to have received a 3rd-party cable like this one. I guess I should know better, but they showed an original Nintendo cable in the photo and the comment about "this cable is third patry" was tucked away in the small print. If they'd put that more obviously or in the title I probably wouldn't have bought this, as I have a pre-order that Game haven't yet bothered sending out.

well it was initially just gonna be black and white remember. it does make me wonder why the go on about liking the twilight when really its brighter than the light world

Mine was from some guy called hot_item__shop cost 2.99 plus 12.99 p & p
he had hundreds available it looks like there are entire factories givem over to making 3rd party wii component cables at the moment.

Got my 10 dollar Play Asia cable this morning,to tide me over till the official one comes back in stock.

Not sure what to make of the picture quality to be honest. Could be the Wii has a really good Composite signal so i don't notice too much improvement,could be because it's an unofficial lead,could be the Wii has a not too hot Component signal (which i've heard).

Guess all will be revealed when the real McCoy turns up.

It actually has the capability for very good Composite AND Component video but some programs on the Wii turn on a Flicker Filter to blur the picture to stop it flickering on Interlaced TVs (that's the idea anyway, they always overdo it). The Wii main menus have this done to them, so my first impression on plugging the cable in was "That's it?"

To get an idea for yourself how much flicker filtering messes up the picture, go to the Mii section of the Wii dashboard, see how blurry it is, then pop in Wii Sports and look at the same Miis when it asks you to select one to play as.

The Wii doesn't turn the flicker fixer off when in EDTV mode...?!! Wow, that's spectacularly stupid...! Did the Cube have the same problem when running 480p? I only ever ran mine 480i but I remember hearing it looked good in progressive mode.
