"had" as in they did have them but they sold out, or "had" as in you saw them in there and they may or may not have them anymore? Only five mins away from me on the train, so I may pop up there when I finish work.

PS - You didn't happen to notice how much they were did you?

Ah, OK. Mine was an official one though, hence the price. Wouldn't have paid over the odds for a third party one.

Does anyone have experience of both the Game own brand component cable AND the official one?
I picked up a Game brand one t'other day, and seems fine to me. Just wondered if it was worth changing to the official one?

Well, none of the games I've played have been Flicker Filtered running in 480p, but the system menus are. Maybe they'll fix it in a later system update.

Can't comment on the GameCube since it's system menus only ever showed in 480i anyway.

My television is a Samsung LE26R41B.

With a Component lead, the Wii's graphics are still blurry and indistinct and certainly non pin-sharp.

pardon my lack of knowledge on the subject, but are component cables for hd tellys only? i've got a pretty standard crt widescreen telly, would one of these cables make things any better?

some high end CRT's have component.

on the back look for 5 inputs - Red, Blue, Green (video) and white, red (audio). If it has that then it can do Component.

It?s does seem a bit odd, I?d of much preferred a toned down clearer version - I?m sure the extra Wii horsepower could of provided this.

Has anyone found a way to play VC games via component cable? I still can't play Donkey Kong Country, and I deleted the save file and everything. It still gives me a 'mode not supported' black screen.

I guess I'll have to fire off an e-mail to Nintendo.

Isn't that a problem with your TV rather than the games? I hear the games still output at their original resolution, so your TV probably isn't expecting 320x240 or whatever resolution they run at down a component cable, thus the 'mode not supported' message generated by your set.

Nah, the Virtual Consoles are scaled to the standard Wii output resolution by the Wii itself before going to the TV.

Never had this myself, but I've heard it before from people who didn't buy US consoles. Are you using a PAL Wii?

Yes, PAL Wii. And other people have had this same problem. I'm actually going to write to Nintendo about this now.

PC Engine games are, but SNES, NES and I think Megadrive games output at the original systems' non-interlaced resolution.

Got my component cable at last. 4 week too late.

Shame I am too tired to try it out. I will when I finish work tomorrow.
