    It doesn't though. Very odd!

I picked up the Game own-brand set and to my extremely-critical eyes, there is no visible difference from the composite lead. I am not happy.

Moreover, having been satisfied with Wii Sports' lo-fi graphics (they work for the game) I was appalled by Red Steel, which looks almost PSXish. Zelda resembles an N64 game.

Admittedly, I will accept accusations of a rose-tinted outlook (and perhaps being spoiled by HD DVD and 360) but AFAIC, the Wii looks worse than the GC. I'm still stomping through Tales of Symphonia and it looks a hundred times better than either game I've mentioned.

576i gives the highest resolution but something must be horribly wrong to produce such a substandard image, especially through component.

Are there hidden settings for chrominance and luminance, or RGB/YPbPr?

Lastly, I've found the whites entirely overblown, especially on Mii plaza, no matter how low the contrast.

      Suggestions?

LG 42PC1D, a 42" plasma. Every other input is flawless.

Have you even set the console to display at 480p, or have you just plugged it in and expected it to work!?

              But of course!

As I live in PAL land, I'm not sure 480p holds any benefit over 576i, aside from smoother animation. Indeed, the former is lower resolution than the latter - even though the UK should be running 576p (and may still be).

I dunno if that is directed at me, but yes I enabled 480p ofc.

I can see obvious horizontal lines on my sammy 26" LCD (the one everyone brought for the 360 last year:P) where I presume the TV is upscaling the 480p lines into 768 (or however many, I forget now) lines that the TV has.

Id be interested to see if anyone else is having this problem with Samsung Panels.

I got my component lead from the HK ebay seller on Monday - Much, much better - Haven't tried Rayman but the dash & Zelda both looked much clearer & crisper - not sure if i'm at 480p or 576i I'd hazard the 480 option !

I had one of them and to be honest for SD source it wasn't very good.

I just walked into GAME in Debenhams and picked their own brand one up.

Time to cancel my 3 web orders then.

It's not the greatest TV in the world but I think it's okay over component usually... I'm finding Zelda fine after fecking about with the image settings somewhat. I think it's just the game's origin as a GC title that shows it up a little from time to time and the fact that I've been playing stuff on the 360 at 720p.

I have an official japanese component cable.

I've attached a screenshot of the game. If you're not on or past dungeon number 5 don't look.
Edit again: no I haven't as I cba resizing it!
