I enjoyed the demo from the offing, and it's got me to chuck a preorder for the full thing (the only thing bugging me at the moment is we now have to wait around a month for it )

The demo hasn't done much to quell my fears about how it will hold up as a full game though - what I'm now going to christen the `Just Cause Effect` whereby it starts fine but gets very repetative.

Didn't have a chance to try co-op last night but I remain hopeful this will save it from a repetative fate.

Repetative fate. Repetative fate. Save it from a repetative fate.[/irony]

No worries dude. I do think crackdown is fun. It's a lot better than I thought it was going to be. I expected it to be **** for the very reason that it seems the halo 3 beta invite was being used to 'sell' the game.

I thinking skilling up on the full game will be ALOT slower when you consider just how many orbs there are to find.

          It doesn't prove anything.

A handfull of thickos who can't make a decision for themselves might con themselves into liking a game they really can't stand, but not 'a lot of people' like you first suggested.

The vast majority of praise Crackdown will recieve will be based on genuine opinion, not justification for the Halo 3 demo (which won't even be available until some time after releases anyway).

Conversely, you could argue the game will recieve a lot more flak and be more returned than normal because of the attraction of the Halo 3 demo.

I understand some of the city is blocked from the demo, but can anyone tell me how big the 'game world' is?

Are we talking GTA San Andreas size, or more Saints Row?

about 10 square miles of area, but there is a lot more to it that either of those two due to the vertical exploration. there are buildings in the region of 1 miles tall

Just out of interest, roughly how many square miles was Saints row?

I've played through the demo a good 5 or 6 times now and I haven't hit a fake wall yet so its looking good in my opinion!

from google it seems Saints Row is 15 sq miles and San Andreas is 18

I'm not really into these type of games (although I liked GTA 3) but this has a fresh feeling to it. It’s not the usual bad boy gangster rap free roaming violent game we have seen in the past few years (e.g. True Crime, Saints Row, GTA SA). It's got more of a fresh feeling to it thanks it's futuristic style and the fact that you're the copper instead.

Hmmm, seems weird, San Andreas seems much bigger than saints row to me - ah well.

really looking forward to this though - cant download the demo at the mo, cos i dont have an internet connection in my girlfriends house, plus i dont have a gold account.

I reckon there should be other ways of getting the demos, such as downloading to a usb dongle (2GB) and putting them on the 360 that way.

Aye there's no way Saints Row is anything like the size of San Andreas - certainly not 3sq m of a difference !

How good is that music that plays when you quit the demo

Do you really think that's the reason? Do you think Crackdown would have sold less without the invite after this demo?
I think after this demo it will be on more peoples radar than the halo 3invites issue, Crackdown is just pure and simple fun with or without Halo 3 Beta invite on the front of the box it's still a good game inside.
I have always wondered why the hell MS didn't just release the Halo 3 Beta on a separate disc and charge say £9.99-£19.99. Hell it seems even some people are stupid enough to pay £39.99-£49.99 for it even so why not MS??
Or as a Marketplace download for points, by including this as a freebie in Crackdown cheapens peoples opinion of the game before they have even bought it.
It will always be seen as the game that sold X copies because of a beta, rather than sold X copies because people wanted it.
