Latest PS3 Firmware Updates

I wouldn't mind if they had some options with the colours like the firmware on the PSP. I think standard wallpaper would not look that good but if they gavesome appropriate options it would be nicer.

Lol...isn't that one of your hopes with every update announcement?

They don't usually mention adding new games now, although they do keep getting added anyway with the updates so you may finally be lucky!

The PS/PS2 setting shown above will hopefully have some interesting new stuff in it.

Oh, I've not noticed a thread about bc games getting updated, is there one here ?

It was added to the latest R:FOM patch too, though unlike HOME you can't access them by just pressing SELECT, you have to go to the specific option within the main menu, which then brings up the FRIENDS part of the XMB.

I quite like these frequent updates. Can't see any in that list that are of any interest to me, but they're still welcome changes.

It seems to make sense that the next big update (v2:00) will be released somewhere between Leipzig and the autumn.

That'll possibly have the centralised comms features that people want, it'll set us all up for the full release of Home too.

Another nice minor addition, MS have been trying to get that right for ages, if I hit eject on my remote it still won't eject the damn HD-DVD drive like it's supposed to.

When they can get the PS button working like the GUIDE button then the PS3 will be well on it's way to becoming my favourite console. As it stands it cannot match the integration of LIVE that MS has, but if they can get the XMB working ad-hoc then we'll be talking. I'm certain its coming as well...

Yep, 7 months on I'm getting sick of the Gran Turismo tune now

The rumours still persist that it's coming with update 2.0 which will be this Autumn.

As hoolak posted, it's currently possible to bring it up via the virtual PSP in Home according to those who are in the Beta, so it looks like it is on the way. Still can't believe they didn't throw it in as standard, but as long as they get there in the end then I'll be happy

Whats a Virtual PSP?

I'm sorely lacking on my PS3 feature knowledge!!! This has been on my mind now for a while, and will probably come across as a right n00by question, but here goes... All these PS1 games that are on the PSN, will they work on the PS3, or are they just for the PSP?
