The bigger font and icon sizes are starting to bug me. At least give us the option - it looks like a PC desktop at a low res.

Yeah it's annoying the hell out of me too.

Engadget have an article up about a couple of things that are going to be made available to developers.

I mentioned the first one months ago as they've been putting calendars up in the Japanese store which use the technology. It's not quite the same seeing it in videos and I'm not really sure what they'll use it for but I was bloody impressed when I originally found the calendar.

This video is also from this year's CEDEC, it shows the head tracking system that is being used in GT5...without the cow head augmented reality.

Not particularly something I'm bothered about but if this is correct I do know it's something that a lot of people are after.

Cross-title chat is consistently one of the most asked-for features on PS3 ? looks like Sony?s ready to deliver.
I know Sony did say when v3.00 was launched that it was something they were working on but it's usually best to think of these things as rumours until confirmed officially.

Maybe this will help voice comms on the PSN, as its pretty crap at best. But I guess thats down to the games server. Unified voice comms may sort that out if you can have party chat ala live.

While obviously it's a feature that should have been in on the system from day one, at the same time I fear this'll spell the end of any more interesting experiments like Demon's Souls. I would love to see a game purposefully restrict voice chat like that even if it was present on the system, but given far too much of game design nowadays revolves around giving players what they want regardless of whether or not it's good for them I don't see that happening again.

I was just thinking that. I remember the first time I played PSO on the Xbox 1. It destroyed the game for me having played it on the DC and then the Gamecube, all those fun little chat emblems. Only to have to listen to some little oik shout insults at me.

Mine always did. Didn't realise that was an issue, unless you didn't have an HDTV?

Yeah, same for me. Always worked though HD, but give a video mode error on SD.

I've just noticed that PSP firmware 6.0 added a custom zoom setting for PS1 games, so you can scale them to the exact aspect ratio and size you want. A lot of games (even NTSC ones) had borders in the old predefined screen modes, so this is a really nice addition. And for PAL games, it means you can sort out the huge borders and squashed graphics.
