The bigger font and icon sizes are starting to bug me. At least give us the option - it looks like a PC desktop at a low res.

Engadget have an article up about a couple of things that are going to be made available to developers.
I mentioned the first one months ago as they've been putting calendars up in the Japanese store which use the technology. It's not quite the same seeing it in videos and I'm not really sure what they'll use it for but I was bloody impressed when I originally found the calendar.

Not particularly something I'm bothered about but if this is correct I do know it's something that a lot of people are after.
Originally posted by VG247A VG247 said today that Sony has informed developers of plans to incorporate cross-title voice chat in PS3 play by the end of October. The feature will be added in Firmware update 3.10, we were told.
Cross-title chat is consistently one of the most asked-for features on PS3 ? looks like Sony?s ready to deliver.

While obviously it's a feature that should have been in on the system from day one, at the same time I fear this'll spell the end of any more interesting experiments like Demon's Souls. I would love to see a game purposefully restrict voice chat like that even if it was present on the system, but given far too much of game design nowadays revolves around giving players what they want regardless of whether or not it's good for them I don't see that happening again.

I've just noticed that PSP firmware 6.0 added a custom zoom setting for PS1 games, so you can scale them to the exact aspect ratio and size you want. A lot of games (even NTSC ones) had borders in the old predefined screen modes, so this is a really nice addition. And for PAL games, it means you can sort out the huge borders and squashed graphics.
