I had yet another crash on Oblivion. Something like the sixth in ninety hours since restarting post-SI. I honestly don't know if it's my 360 now (it crashes once in a blue moon on other games) or shoddy programming. With the scare stories in this thread it's impossible to know.

Im getting worried now, ive seen all the horror stories.
Ive had my 360 about 2 weeks, and its been great.
Now I am experiencing some freezing issues. Only with one game so far? Call of Duty 3.
I get freezing 3-4 times so far on the part where your waiting for more players to join an xbox live game, and I just got freezing AFTER a game, when I opened the guide using the button in the middle of the controller.
Are these issues just to do with Call of Duty 3 or is my 360 going tits up?

Also - the guide button is notorious for causing lock-ups. Try not to use it unexpectedly - pause the game first - and especially not when a game is loading. In general keep yourself disconnected from Xbox Live unless you're using it. My console will lockup 8/10 when I hit the guide button when someone comes online.

My Xbox 360 just literally ATE my Test Drive Unlimited disc when I started it up 10 minutes ago and I can now only access the dashboard as just about every game I own crash or freeze.
I've phoned the (Microsoft) customer services up and there will be somebody coming to pick it up on Saturday 'between 8am till 4pm' - I have to work at 10 till 4pm but thanks anyway(!)
Crap, crap, crap.
I'm going to give the next model one more chance then that’s it; no Xbox 360 until the (newer) system is proven to be stable for good.

I`m on my second 360 since October and this one has now started to worry me.
The problem just seems to be with GRAW2, when it loads anything from the multiplayer it sounds like someone has thrown a handful of gravel in the machine and it makes a horrible noise.
It`s still under guarentee thankfully.

The inclusion of the epoxy resin on the edges of the chips has solidifed what I've known for a while now, that board warping leads to the chips being pushed and pulled to the point they seperate from the board. Problem is, this method is not a cure. It might stop the rot, but it won't eliminate the problem.
What remains to be revealed is whether or not the actual motherboard PCB is more rigid (less warp prone). This would of course make the expoxy unneccessary, but MS might be hedging their bets.
