Generally if they send your own console back, it has a new mobo and drive in anyway, so isn't technically the same machine.

My console has arrived back this evening, and it's my console, serial number is the same, but, the fans are now different, I no longer have my nice black Nidec fans, I now have the white sticker ones, so does that mean they basically skinned my console and stuck new guts, whether new or refurbed; and stuck the black skin back around it all?

LOL. So apparently you can only transfer licenses to a new 360 every 12 months - seriously, who has an XBox last that long! Not only that, despite using the same HDD, I'll have to redownload them? I've 250 downloaded items according to the Live site. This is going to be soooo much fun.
Edit. **** this. 250 licenses to redownload individually. Really can't be ****ed to spend a day doing that, can only queue about 5 at a time anyway.
Wouldn't be that bad if the new 360 didn't make this awful clunking noise when it's first turned on! It's a Jasper one, so hopefully more reliable, but that noise doesn't fill me with confidence....Last edited by Matt; 24-05-2009, 14:36.

Not played a game on it so I'll give that a go, if it's just a start up noise it's not really an issue. I don't know what it is making that noise, think it's the lense mechanism moving or something.

As you can tell, I'm too enamoured with having to do thisI need a simple solution, like my content automatically moving with a simple option. I really don't want to **** about with 250 licenses. Make it a one click process that handles all the content. And then having to download it all again is silly. It's already on my hard drive.
I've still no idea how I've accumulated that many Live purchases. It's an alarming number! Got quite a few Rock Band tracks but still....
