unlucky guys . Iv had my console since dec 2nd with out so much of a problem (touch wood), had one crash while trying to exit FFXI download (although i think i was impatient to play my mate online). I am seriously considering buying that warrenty if my console doesnt fail within a year since i think its going to happen its just a matter of time (the current model just has me very worried: heat, noise etc)

Cardboard coffin has arrived, bit of a basic box but guess it will do the job. Instructions are a piece of **** photocopy though, with six images showing you how to pack the box, or at least I guess they are, they could be of how to barbeque a rabbit they are so unclear.

Oh yeah and box delivered by DHL, to be dispatched by DHL, but account number (sorry NUMMER) for securicor quoted

Will get it away tomorrow I think, just the 360, PSU and the controller. They can wistle for the HDD

Are you charging your wireless pad per chance I noticed that my machine didn't go quiet whilst I was still charing the pad!

So far no problems although Ridge Racers has started pausing a lot in the menus which is anouying, creamed off the FFXI beta in a hope that was causing the issue or my PC being on!

        Cheers

How long did the coffin take to arrive - mines not here after 3 days, does it take much longer?

I had the first within 2 days, the second the next day. I'd call them up, just in case.

OK thanks, the urge to buy a core pack in the interim is growing by the day

I rang yesterday and the box arrived today ! I've got a good business account with DHL though, so maybe that speeded it up !

Have to say I really am relluctant to send this thing off, guy on GHZ got his third replacement recently made on 16/10/05 older than my launch machine. Looks like you deffo end up with some other poor buggers old machine which has been repaired

What a time for your loved one to bite the dust on Valentines day!

I'm going to take mine back in November next year to get the newest update of the system before my warranty runs out, already on my second. This seems to be worse than the PS2 when it was originally released. And I still have my original from launch too, with no problems at all! Bloody Microsoft!! lol

Just wanted to say thanks for opening the poll. I have had a few freezes, but otherwise OK, so I voted for no issues. But I am very interested to see what the figures show.

Folk with healthy 360's don't forget to vote!

It wouldn't surprise me if the "Real" figure could be as high as 20-30% failures.

Tell me about, I even promised her flowers if she started to behave, but allas it was not to be

Not sure its wise for folks to hang on sending them back, as it would seem that some of the return consoles coming back from MS are older than the launch machines we all got. I've hatched a plan though to get me a new machine, and will let you know how I get on

360 has gone, friendly DHL lady picked it up, wait and see how long it takes to get one back now.

Have to question the person who devised the return scheme though : They send you a box by next day DHL - you then ring DHL and arrange for said box to be picked up (I advised DHL that I have a daily pickup for my business from them, but they said it had to be a special for MS ) and that is then delivered next day - and then they hopefully send you a replacement again by next day DHL. Only people that seem to be winning are those at DHL, who must be creaming it in from this, MS to me lose on cost and we lose on time. Would be so much easier, and more cost effective, if they just delivered the replacement at time of collection, with the drivers checking they were getting what MS were expecting.

Also I run an export business and am therefore quite used to economic packaging, and I have to say that it would of been difficult to get anything other than the console and the psu which I sent into the box provided. No room for controllers remote cables etc if you ask me. Guess the guy designing the box has never seen the PSU !

Phoned customer services and they said they will send a brand new one.
Wonder if thats brand 'refurbished' new then? Grr
