360 Issues thread

    I'm absolutely gutted by this to be honest, I love my 360 (its the only console I own now apart from a DS that my wife has most of the time). It's 10 WORKING days which means even if they collect it today it'll be 2 weeks...and I'll miss Gears of War launch.

    Got the Vision camera today and was looking forward to experimenting with it. Thanks for the answer by the way.

      I think my PAL 360 is on it's way to failing.

      There's no faults as such yet, but you can hear it really slowly powering up...

      You know you get the green ring start flashing in the 4 segments in order, when it's powering up?

      It does that, THEN 5 seconds later goes through the startup.

      I'm also noticing very strange slowdown that I could've sworn wasn't there before, in Phantasy Star Universe and Saint's Row. Going to test a few more games when I get home...

      Anybody else experienced simular?

        Silvergun, before mine went all I noticed were occasional slowdowns on the dash (between button pushes etc) and lots of crashes during Fifa, then on the dash, then it died.

        I really don't see why they need 10 days, surely they should just bring out a new one and refurbish mine...I'm sure they'll do that anyway, but I'm gonna note down my serial and if it takes 10 days, and I don't get the same one back I'll want to know why.

          same as you jebus, i sold my launch machine a couple of months ago, got this one as there is a few games out now that i want to get, it arrived tuesday from LXdirect(?209 with voucher) did the update and it died really gutted. didn't want to send it back to LX as it would take 14days to get a new one.
          person i spoke to at MS said it's upto 10days for normally 5days about.
          i hope so as COD3 and gears are out over the next 2 weeks.

          i did notice this one was a lot louder than my launch one, and a lot hotter(hotter than my old one was after hours of playing in after only a couple on mins )

          hope the one i get back is an older or quieter one.

          also can i take out the extended warranty on the one i get back? seen as i didn't have time to send it off for this one.

            ???? I had a feeling this was just due to the update, as I've only noticed mine doing it since the update. If not, then I guess my 360 will be joining yours soon

            EDIT: Jebus, it doesn't HAVE to take 10 days. It can be quicker. I've known people who've had it back with them in 3-4 days (dispatch, arrive with Ms next day, dispatch new console same day, with you following day). Live in hope.

              well UPS never arrived to pick up my 360 ft:

              guess its going to be Monday at the earliest now before they get pick it up

                UPS work saturdays, just give them a call tomorrow and arrrange a time then.

                  Well mine is being picked up between 9am-5pm on Monday...

                  It does work occasionally, so I'll keep trying til then

                  Didn't even get offered a ****ing saturday pickup.

                  If it takes 10 days, personally I'd find that very poor on Microsoft's behalf, a company their size I'm expecting it to be picked up Monday but have a 360 back by friday to be honest.

                    well i just rang up and they said the driver was taken ill and didn't say there was an outstanding pickup
                    so the guy on the phone said they will arrange for it to be picked up before 12 tomorrow.

                    we shall see

                          Mine's only been doing it since the update too.

                          I could just be panicing again - I'm playing RR6 and it's silky smooth just like it should be, so the FPS problems could just be me worrying unnecessarily.

                          I'm reassured knowing it's not doing that just with me.

                              This is becomming silly now, this is my second return. Microsoft need to get thier act together. I dont see why they dont just send out new 360's instead of refurbishing old ones which are obviously going to become faulty again.

                              Im also sick of these customer service people who dont kno what the hell they are talking about. You know the ones that have never touched a console in their life and put you on hold to go and check with thier superior and have a 20 minute conversation while your waiting.

                                It occurred to me that although the guy on the phone said "Sorry for the inconvenience of your console needing repairs" that they should really do some sort of goodwill thing...when the console comes back, they should chuck in some MS points or something in. The console isn't even a year old, it's a launch model...it's not really good enough and I'd imagine, despite everything else being brilliant, that this still happening must be rather embarrassing.
