360 Issues thread

    Heres a weird issue mine has developed as I have just moved house.

    You know how when controller 1 is connected, section 1 of the ring lights up? During gameplay, the light now oscillates between 1 and 2, randomly. The light on the controller still says 1, but allegedly it is connected to 2.

    So i tried plugging 2 controllers in to see if that made a difference, same thing. 1 and 2 - changes to 2 and 3! It makes no difference to play or anything, its just plain weird. Anyone else had similar problem?

      Did you manage to get this sorted out? I've realised that I've got the same problem too. Amusingly there's a Microsoft Knowledge Base article about the problem, which says the solution is... to sign in to Live!

        STILL heard absolutely nothing from Microsoft in e-mail form and still no idea when I'm getting my console back. Pro Evo 6 arrived today, it'd be lovely to have a system to play it on.

        I'm getting ****ing angry about this. The only communication I've had is when I personally rang them. Utterly disappointed in the entire situation to be honest and unless I get it back by tomorrow (hugely unlikely now) I'll be writing a furious e-mail when it finally does get back.

        I've said it numerous times but if I ****ing miss Gears of War...

          Mine is still freezing away, went a good half hour there without it then on CoD3 trying to do one of the missions without getting hit more than 30 times and not dying or using checkpoints, for some achievement pointage, it freezes, so there goes that achievement out the window!

          I really dont want to have to return this again but its looking more likely, hopefully Game will take it back again and I dont have to go down the horrible MS route which its seems could take bloody ages!

            I feel your pain.

            UPS have collected my 360 today and judging by the experience I've had so far that will be the last I ever see or hear of it.

            This is all happening at the worst possible time - CoD3, GoW, R6 Vegas the week after, i'm not gonna have time to play everything before Wii comes out!

              Indeed, it's horrible. They have ?300 worth of my possession and they can't even be bothered to let me know what is going on.

                I haven't got round to sorting it yet. It's not a major issue as I'm usually signed in to Live. It's just a bit of bugger when I want system link sessions.

                  well i got mine back today after the redelivered it, its an April console and a lot quieter than the one that broke(sept version)

                  anyway works now but when you press the guide button the blade thing that pops up, the top end of that is all messed up grey and pink in a little square box so looks like this one will go back ft:
                  might keep it though see how it goes as i don't want the hassle of dealing with MS so soon

                      Thats really strange. My xbox was picked up on Tuesday (after phoning on Monday). They received it Tuesday. I got an e-mail on Wednesday saying they were dealing with it. Then I got a UPS tracking number yesterday and its out for delivery today. It seems very unfair that some peoples are taking an age when others are going in and out so quickly. Why it is taking very long is anyones guess as I can guarantee that no repairs are taking place and they are just sending out a refurb/new machine as soon as the other one arrives.

                        You are jokeing right, you think that shocking they have had mine since 4th september. Many many many phone calls later and im still no closer to getting it sorted. Why the feck do they have service lines with people who dont speak english.

                          Precicely why I am so bloody angry about this. I can't really express calmly in text form but I am so damn frustrated about this, in all honesty I'm absolutely disgusted they are treating (me) a customer of their ?300 product this way.

                          Someone else will end up with my console when they do fix it, they will just send me a refurbished one. I was thinking it's maybe because its a core model, but that shouldn't matter really.

                          I will be e-mailing them later today about this very matter, and asking why at least two people that I know of have sent their consoles back and had a better service in a shorter time.

                          What do they tell you when you speak to them? There's no way on earth I'd accept that. The wierd thing was, the two times I've spoken to them, they both had American accents but...well, as I said previously, they weren't right. It wasn't a natural accent, it felt forced or strange. The second time, the woman clearly didn't understand me and literally ignored me twice and repeated her spiel about "Let me just clarify the nature of the call" and went on to explain what I'd rang about!

                          What about their 8-10 days turnaround mate, have you asked them?

                          For a company as huge as Microsoft this is nothing short of appalling and I'm disgusted and very disappointed that they don't have the customer service to back up what is an excellent product, we know it's an excellent product because that's why we're so ****ing annoyed they aren't sorting the problems quickly enough.

                            Its a joke mate really is, they use to have an england based call center. They normally give me some bs about it being in the service center. I got a supervisor on last saturday who said he would be sorting it out for me ans sending me a pad out still nothing has arrived.

                              Well since I'm getting more and more angry and frustrated, and their call centres are useless I thought it'd be good therapy to e-mail them instead, unfortunately only finding the "Support" pages on xbox.com. Anyway, this is what I've sent them :

                              "According to UPS you have had my Xbox 360 since TUESDAY 7th November at 09:26 yet ONLY TODAY (FRIDAY 10th November at 09:16) am I recieving an e-mail to tell me you've recieved it. I know two people who have had their 360's back in the same amount of time you've had mine. I am rather concerned it has taken 3 days to tell me you've recieved the console yet other people are told the day it's recieved.

                              I really do feel rather let down by the service, I am aware that most of the time you replace the 360's with refurbished models (not a problem for me at all) anyway, so I really am concerned why it has taken this long to let me know you have recieved the console, let alone get one back to me.

                              I rang the helpline on Wednesday to enquire as to why I didn't recieve any kind of confirmation of you recieving the console, and was told "It's here, it's being fixed" yet today I recieve an e-mail saying you're recieved it. The helpline was NOT helpful and didn't seem to understand why I was ringing at all despite explaining myself twice.

                              I'd really appreciate a response to this email. I'm sure you are very busy but when a customer spends ?300 on a product and it breaks down within the first year of ownership I'd expect better, especially from a company of Microsoft's size.

                              I doubt I'll get a response to be honest, just an automated one. They've got us by the balls yet all we want is our product back. Gutted. I'm on holiday from yesterday until Tuesday and I thought I'd get some quality time in with the 360, but I guess I'm ****ed.
