Mine was picked up yesterday, anyone know of anyway to keep a track of the status?? Can you log i anywhere to see if it been received by the repair centre. The UPS guy that collected mine was one of the shifties guys I have ever seen

You should have had a UPS tracking number attached to the shipping label.

Alternatively, I've heard that you can check status on Xbox.com, but I've never used it.

OK, my 360 DVD Drive is shafted. It can just about load the games after lots of noise and grinding.

When ejecting games the disc keeps spinning in the plastic tray!

So then I have to wait a month for my third 360 to arrive.

I have been toying with the idea of a second machine anyway, and I am torn between Elite and Arcade.

Folks, which the quietest 360 available?

The Elite's seem to be the better bet atm for getting a Benq DVD drive, which seems the key to a quieter machine. Falcons (65nm) machines are also now in the wild, and should drop fan noise slightly, if not dramatically. If you look back a couple of pages, I posted some info on narrowing your chances of getting a Falcon machine.

Just Spoke to game, £140 for a 360 premium on a straight trade in or £100 off an Elite if you trade up to it. Can't see the logic in that at all, but if I can keep my premium going I will be cutting my loses and cashing it in for the £140 and moving to Elitesville seperately !

Meanwhile I'll be off to buy an Elite.

I doubt there is anyone on the boards who has not contributed to the thread in some shape or form.

On a side note, my elite is a lot noisier than my original premium, dvd drive and fan noise make watching dvd's impossible in low volume

I think the orange box has killed my launch premium. Started getting intermittant graphical glitches which also appear when watching DVDs. Tried switching it on just now and the splash screen was all messed up and then it went off with my tv saying no signal! Worrying times.

Was told today by MS that my console was repaired and had been picked up by UPS. Was later told by UPS that they haven't picked it up yet as all MS have done is print out an address label. I then found out that it's being shipped to somewhere in York, while I live in Edinburgh and haven't ever been in York... A MS supervisor is supposed to phone me back in the next 48 hours. Anger escalating...

Bought a new machine a couple of weeks back and it suffers from this really low pitched DVD drive hum. It's not loud but it vibrates through the house and everyone can hear it. Anyone else experienced anything like this? Its one of the HDMI models....

My Elite does that mr sockochris. DOesnt echo through the house, but is noisy
