360 Issues thread

Well i have had the red light/black screen thing once so far, and three lock-ups. I know of 5 other people with 360's, and all of them have had problems. Not to mention what i have been reading on this forum, and on others. Is this the most buggy console ever released??

Has anyone had major problems with their consoles after getting a replacement? I got a replacement after a screwy ring of light and so far the only crash I've had has been on Project Gotham pressing the guide button while loading.

My launch console has been fine, and I've hammered it: not had one lock-up/crash etc. The German launch 360 I sold to my mate has been similarly fine.

I've just had my first ever crash whilst playing Ridge Racer 6 online. I was looking at gamercards however and the person I was looking at went offline or something?!

Never happened before and I have looked at cards in PDZ, PGR etc.

Presume it's just a one off, not to worry as no other probs aside from the ones (now fixed) I mentioned earlier in this very thread!

Just problems with the d-pad on the Premium's wireless controller so far. Right doesn't work very well at all and requires a really hard press to register. I'm going to exchange it for another and hopefully that one will be better.

After finding out that I have to send back my HDD even though its the console that is broken, I go to GAME and buy myself a memory card to save my most treasured save, my almost complete Perfect Dark save.

Had my first crash on quake 4, was texting quite a lot on the pop up dash and it crashed, then, tried it again to test and same happened once again,

You can switch the storage device in-game, although I'm guessing that's not a viable option if your console's fecked. Still, if you can take your HDD and your memory card to a mate's house then it's still salvagable at least.

I'm even more confused now, I got my return box and it says console only and has a little diagram showing you how to put the console in the box. I'm not gonna send my HDD

The diagram is just general instructions, nothing to do with what you've been told by M$.
I had to send back my power supply, HD & 360. I did call M$ to double check against the DHL guide and was told to send back exactly what was aked for in the previous conversation. Took about 1 week in total & got sent a new console - although to be honest a lot of people seem to be ignoring the bit about sending in the HD - and keeping it because of saves.
