Wasn't that crappy fighting game locked to the US?

I thought everybody else had problems installing it outside the US. It was the same in HD too...

      EDIT:

I think it was a Def Jam fighting game but I'm not sure.

OK I said the wrong thing - what I meant to say was in terms of online play (which I believe prologue will give us) everything to date has been locked by region i.e calling all cars (different versions of the game with different icons), tekken.

So if you DL the Japanese version and everybody else gets the EU one you won't be able to play with each other.

I'm wondering if it was due to the old 50/60 Htz thing as it was possible to install it on a JP machine but not UK?

Skip to post #71 (Didn't want to link direct to the post, because they're scans) for some Famitsu coverage. Including confirmation of Top Gear being involved with the game.

In what way are they involved? If its the track, then ace... If its some "race the stig" levels then not so ace. If its unlockable pictures of Clarkson in his pants then I might not get the game.

Seems as though it's more to do with the GT TV feature, so I'm not sure if they'll be just using the show format for that or whether the presenters will be getting involved. Nice crossover though if they can get the game into the show.

I'm hoping for a mini game where you can paint your car with redneck baiting slogans and drive through the deep south.

                        That's really good news...

I was hoping GT-TV would would up doing things like that. I would have thought it would be things like reviews of cars and stuff but new stuff would be good too.

Imagine the comedy potential of license test done by Jeremy Clarkson!!

                        Damage modelling by Richard Hammond?

Hopefully they'll get other TV shows involved too from across the globe. I wonder if there will be a GT5 section on the show now lol.

Jeremy Wallpaper in just his Y Fronts? Hmm, no.

I had a look in the artcle but can't find any refrence to Top Gear. I would be supprised in a Japanese Developer embraces a western TV Show, I have no idea of Top Gear's reach in Japan, but would love to have Dunsfold as a Test Track.

We've been dreaming of that since the PGR2 faithfull uggested it as DLC.

Page 2, Post 71...top left of the second page in the magazine!
It mentions an "Apache Vs Lotus Shootout" which could be some sort of event or article?

Can anybody give us a translation of what is happening in it please?

The Daytona International Speedway will be making its first appearance in the Gran Turismo series through Gran Turismo 5 Prologue, the magazine reports. Players will be able to select from the oval course and road course variations of the track.

Also revealed in this week's Famitsu are first details on a demo download for Prologue. The demo will be available in Japan on 20th Oct. It will include the GT-R car and and the Suzuka Circuit.

As for the final release for the game, Famitsu lists 13th December as the big date in Japan. Sony will make the title available both as a PlayStation Network download and as a packaged Blu-ray product. The Blu-ray version will cost 4,980 yen (£21:42), up slightly from the 4,500 yen
                              (£19:35) of the download.

That may seem a little steep for what is ultimately a sampler for next year's Gran Turismo 5, but Polyphony really is packing in the features here. The latest update from Famitsu reveals that Prologue will include a new GT.TV mode. This gallery lets you view car television programs from throughout the world, including BBC's Top Gear and Japan's Car Graphic TV. To view these programs, you'll have to pay about 200 yen (£0:86) per episode. Each program will have individual settings for viewing period.

Online play is going to be one of the big selling points for GT5 Prologue. As previously announced, the game will support 16 player online races, although producer Kazunori Yamauchi admitted to the magazine that he expects difficulties when reaching that maximum amount unless all players have speedy connections.

Unfortunately, Prologue will initially have some limitations to its online mode. On launch day, the game will support Arcade Free Battle mode only, where your opponents are chosen at random. Chat and friend list functionality will be added to the game via download at a later date. Yamauchi was unwilling to give a specific date.

Pretty disappointed if that's the full extent of the Top Gear cross over.
