E3 2007- what are you expecting?

I think it was the year before that (or was it the year before that?) that the place melted into a gooey heap.

If the 360 "sailor" thing doesn't turn out to be another tease, I'm getting one straight away. That would possibly be one of the most exciting things to happen in gaming for some time. I've been meaning to get a 360 for a while but keep putting it off even though there are games on it that interest me. "That announcement" aside, I'm sure there'll be more to tempt me...

I'm also expecting to see more of Sega, Capcom and Namco's Wii showing (Katamari perhaps?). Also, I know it isn't at all likely to happen, but has anyone else considered the possibility of a Wii Silent Hill game? Think about it; you use the remote as a torch or weapon (melee or firearm) and the nunchuck to move. The classic Silent Hill radio static is then delivered through the remote speaker. How. Creepy. Would. That. Be? This NEEDS to happen!

As for the PS3, I'm expecting to see something finally show up for this machine (as in an actual game, rather than dramatised trailers or pie-in-the-sky talk). At the very least I expect Sony will have more concrete information on Little Big Planet and all that's going on with that.

It's funny when people think of Nintendo they generally think "mario 1, mario 2... metroid this, metroid that" but give Microsoft another generation or two and they'll be no different. Halo IV or 0 (or some spinoff after halo wars) PGR5, forza 3 etc

...and all the signs are pointing to Sony also letting rip with some videos and demo's i.e. Heavenly Sword) then we'll have never had it so good during the highlight of the gaming calender.

I've just noticed that there has now been an E3 section added to the US Store under the heading "Get Ready For Something New".

It's empty at the moment though...

Sega showing us some of Wii Ghost Squad and Nights 2 would be good, plus hopefully Namco bring along Time Crisis and the new Guncon for PS3.

I reckon the PS3 will go someway to impressing at E3 - it has to. As for the 360, well, we already know kinda what to expect unless they unleash M3GAT0N after M3GAT0N that we don't know about yet.

I agree, I think Sony will pull out all the stops at E3. They know they were rubbish last year and they know they are falling behind in the sales race. I strongly suspect some major announcements, some great stuff on show and they will walk away with E3 this year. Sony on a mission are a force to be reckoned with.

Tbh, all they need to do is show a 30 second CG of a new Team Ico game the new Wipeout game and enough people will fall over themselves to declare it Sony's E3.

I think Nintendo will have a lot to show. They have been so quiet recently, I can only think that they have a lot of stuff stored up. I expect games like Mario and Metroid could walk away with games of the show. There will be loads of Touch Generations stuff for both the DS and the Wii and loads of third party announcements, some great, others no so great.

MS will be the same steady but nothing amazing showing, like all of their conferences. We'll see some new stuff from Rare and maybe some very early glimpses of some new stuff, but most of it will be more of what we already know.

However if they can show a lot of progress on stuff like PGR4, Banjo Kazooie and that Marvel MMO, then maybe they can turn quite a few heads.

In terms of content, it could be a really special E3.

Apart from Wipeout maybe the Sony showing will be more 'lifestyle' than games. I'm expecting more than just one new hardware piece on show, something like a card-reader, or a motion sensitive controller.

Sony seem so out of touch so I'd guess at another disappointing showing. Listening to the 1up yours podcast they seem to think the big reveal will be GT5. Is that much of a reveal though? We all know its getting made.

As always I think Nintendo have the biggest potential to either wow everyone or completely crash and burn, *cough* pacman vs *cough*
