Just look at the thread here about the games WE are playing, they are certainly not dominated by Wii titles.
The mainstream may have Nintendo 'winning', but does that actually count for anything?

Wii is also your last hope for any games that aren't shooters, drivers, sandbox or sport titles on home consoles. X360 audience has pretty much proven with sales that it won't touch JRPGs, colorful games or quirky titles. Same goes for current PS3 audience.

Plus loads of stuff on Live Arcade has been quirky and colurful and sold loads. It's more about how this stuff is packaged.
It just proves how goddamn narrow average NTSC-UK users tastes are. Halo 3, Orange, Bioshock, Call of Duty 4. From FPS to FPS. Long are gone times when NTSC-UK was about variation, and exotic choices. What a crock of ****. Those titles just happen to be amongst the best titles released this year. You've also left out tonnes of other non-FPS titles that people have been playing and loving.
NTSC-UK'ers love quality. If it happens to come from a lots of FPS at the same time, then so be it.

Actually they always did play the mainstream stuff, but just chatted less about it and more about the niche stuff.

If Nintendo were trailing in 3rd place you'd be arguing about the quality of the few titles instead of trying to twist it that being in 'first place' is the be all and end all of gaming.
Last word : FANBOY.

What sort of figures are we considering loads on the Live stuff? Considering a lot of it costs peanuts you'd expect millions to shift really. Wasn't Minter's latest pretty poor on sales?

I personally don't think its a machine that is encouraging or promoting diversity. Its trying, but it does appear as though it is stereo-typed. Thinking about it my 360 was kind of a replacement for my PC. It attracts similar genre's of games that I used my PC for but without the technical hassle's. CoD4, Mass Effect etc were games that would have been PC only not so long ago.

Also I think the XBox360 actualy has more JRPG's than either of the other two new consoles.
Theres far from just shooters on the 360.
