Well I am hoping for a good year for my backup console.

Bought Motorstorm, R&C,resistance, Eye of beholder, folklore, Heavenly sword, Ridge racer 7, F1 but have to say most of these titles were very disappointing. Motorstorm I am looking at you in particular. I hate the ps3 controller with a passion so I am hoping for a 3rd party 360 style controller for the ps3 and also Resistance 2(this year?) Killzone and everybodys golf.

My definite not interested ins will be MGS,LBP, Playstation Home and Motorstorm 2. I may also try Gran Turismo if its ever released and also if they have managed to add some excitement into it.

Considering that, out of all those games, I am most looking forward too DMC4, RE5 and Condemmend 2.... and considering those 3 games are also on the 360, I would have to say no, 2008 is not the PS3's year.

Haze - Sad to hear its looking a bit ropey. As its only timed exclusive will wait and see. Online on 360 may push it to buy if its any good.
DMC4 - Cant wait but probably on 360.
Everybodys golf 5 - Hard to get excited about a golf game and I like golf games. More interested in We Love Golf.
Killzone 2 - Nah, remember how crap the first one was. Wait and see.
Tekken 6 - Wait and see. Again if it comes out on 360 online may force a buy.
GTA4 - 360.
MGS4 - Definite buy.
Playstation Home - More interested in the effect it will on the online structure rather than the PSO lobby aspect. Not bothered about playing dress up and grooming kids.
Little big planet - Meh. Missus might like it.
Condemned 2 - 360.
GT5 - Overated and dull as dishwater.
Resistance 2 - Meh. First one was ok but any FPS is always gonna suffer with that pad.
Motorstorm 2 - Definite.
RE5 - 360.
Wipeout HD - A maybe.

If you only have a PS3 then its not a bad list but it still needs to offer a lot more than above if its going to differentiate itself from the 360 in my book.

If you've got a 360, PS3 and Wii in your arsenal, then 2008 should be a nice year. Hoorah!

Like D-Ream once said, 'things can only get better' for PS3 as last year was a typical not very amazing launch year.

As for the controller for FPS games, isn't there gonna be more keyboard & mouse support in the future for PS3? I've never really adjusted to using a pad, keyboard & mouse is so much faster and more accurate. If it had that I'd like to get all my FPS games on PS3.

Likewise for me, because anything multiplatform (unless it has some INCREDIBLE PS3 only feature) will be bought on 360 for me.

It's gonna be a better year but it'd be hard pushed to be worse that last year.

December was a great month on PS3 for me with Singstar, Rock Band (US), Ratchet & Clank Future and Uncharted getting me on my PS3 almost exclusively for a change.

White Knight Story and the FF games are looking pretty damn good but i bet we don't see them till 2009 in English.

There is also Disgaea 3, out this month in Japan, and many more Japanese rpg's (I hope - there have been more on the 360 than the PS3 so far, surprising given the balance between PS2 and XBox).
