2008- Great year for PS3 owners?

I'm no business man, but I don't see much sense in 3rd party devs releasing a game for just one of the competing machines. Micorsoft has a massive user base. So, there's loads of moolah to make! Yeeehaaw!

And those are just the exclusives and not including PSN. In just that list you have FPS, racing, Third Person Adventures, Platform, fighting and even a quite innovative CCG game. Sorry but its just nonsense when someone says there is nothing to play on the machine when there is quite clearly plenty.

Two of those games aren't exclusive (there's no way you could call RR7 an exclusive game). From what's left, only Ratchet and Uncharted seem to be getting good praise, for the rest it's a case of 'nice try, but could do better next time'.

A lot of these PS3 exclusives people feel very meh about. Do you mean people on NTSC?

There seems to be a very healthy following for Resistance, Heavenly Sword, Warhawk, etc. In fact most of those games, even LAIR, seems to have a following.

I've seen good praise for most of the games on the list there so I'm not sure what you mean by only Uncharted and Ratchet. Uncharted is certainly getting more praise than most, but the others have had what you would certainly regard as good praise. Also games like EoJ and Folklore have been criminally over-looked in my opinion. Thats all without some good to great multi-format games as well (FIFA 08, CoD4, Assassins Creed, Oblivion, NGS, VF5) and I didn't even mention UT3.

Gamers can't make blanket statements like the PS3 has nothing good to play on it or only Uncharted and Ratchet are getting good praise as thats clearly untrue. You only have to have a look at some of the First Play threads here to see that. When I read comments like that it really does ring with fanboyism or just some deep sense of irrational bitterness towards Sony.

I've very much enjoyed playing those games on the list as well as some of the multi-format games this year as I am sure have many other gamers like me.
