A lot of punters commenting on MJ's link above are citing Dead Space as a template. They may not be realising it, but over the shoulder 3rd person is far a far more involving game-style than FPS. For me at least. Which is why i'd like to see Gearbox going down that road.
I did say way-back-when in this thread i'd like this version of Aliens to be something of a strategic (group orders, low ammo, survival etc) effort, and encouragingly for me those screenshots do seem to hint at that, perhaps even at co-op play orientated.
Hopefully though, it's not going to be L4D on LV426.

edit - easy enough to crack. Browse to http://174.143.27.200/ hostname = FATHER and you get an extended teaser with some very small gameplay sections.

The thing that concerns me slightly is that the last AvP looked the business, but turned out to be a bit of a waste. The only thing which gives me a little bit more hope here is that Gearbox are doing it.
