More chatter about the chances of the sequel. It seems to have gone unmentioned on the net but in the latest issue of Gamesmaster they have an interview about the HD update where they explicitly state that Ancel and his team are working on BG&E2 actively right now.

Beyond Good & Evil HD is all the confirmation I needed, realistically why would they re-release this game on PS3/360 unless they were going to push the sequel?




The more people onboard for the sequel the better, yeah lots of people now know how great it is but remember back in them old days (it will be 8 years this year, 2003!) the combined 4 versions Cube/PS2/Xbox/PC weren't commercially a success, if BG&E came out now and performed that bad across 4 formats we would NEVER see a sequal.
Also how many people would want to play BG&E2 not knowing about BG&E1

In the GM article did they say anything about team size? When BGE2 popped up last time they said it was still in development but only with a small (~5 perp) team.

Nothing numbers wise but they it sounded like a relatively standard sized team headed by Ancel was working on the game. The guy heading up HD said they'd advised on the upscale port and any changes that have been made and that 'it was good of Ubisoft to give Ancel and his team the extra time and privacy they needed' to perfect BG&E2

I believe in the engine as Assassin's Creed 3 could use such an engine. Unveiled at E3 maybe?

I'm hoping it appears soon as such a game surely has to be a risk for Ubisoft and they must be sinking loads into its development by now as it drags on.
