Y'know, I don't think I'll use the gold lancer on second thought

Now i know that the gold lancer looks ace and the hammerburst is actually a useful gun this time around. Is there any way of actually getting the golden hammerbust over here? My local game is sold out of LE pre-orders and isn't actually doing a midnight launch.

The Limited Edition package comes with an Live redeem code for the gold lancer. Then you get a gold hammerbust code at the midnight madness launch events in the US. Still not got a straight answer on if you can get this code in the UK.

You'll get the lancer code fo shizzle because that's in the LE package. Hammerburst code on the other hand is very unlikely. Because i'm lame i'd be willing to pay a couple of quid for the gold hammerburst code if anyone has one to give away come friday

Indeed, semi auto and more accurate now. It's the equivalent of halo's battle rifle against the Lancer's assault rifle. Before the MP match starts you can select whether you spawn with the Lancer or Hammerburst, so it must be some cop.

You can, Gamestation's are doing midnight launches across the UK and you get the code for the gold hammerburst when you buy the game there.

Cool... I actually really liked the hammerburst in GOW over the Lancer.

Believe it or not it was useful at one point. You could down somebody on Execution mode with three bursts, making it a far better mid-range gun than the Lancer. It only stopped being useful when they (quite rightly IMO) tweaked the Lancer damage to be more powerful in a mostly failed attempt at curbing the dreaded Shotty Rush.

The problem was that for most people it wasn't worth wasting time and position on the break to go pick the hammerburst. 2 Players concentrating lancer fire was generally a lot more effective and of course you still have the chainsaw available. I spent most of my time on gears 1 playing private games and we almost always swapped the hammerburst out for a tourque bow, made most maps much more interesting.
